Ok, I'm getting sick of this "no more war" sh*t. Ok, yeah, the war is hard on everyone and no one wants it, but while we're there we have to finish the mission. If you quit the mission, all the lives lost will have been for nothing. But you don't care. You just want everyone to come back. Don't you guys know that soldiers are asking to go back as well as not wanting to go? These guys know that if we bail out now, everything we have done is for nothing. We have to finish the job, like it or not.

so you believe that once the Nazi's started WWII, they were right to finish?

*shrug* its not me playing devil's advocate, its just a question. i just wondered if you have a clear-cut, stubborn view that 'you must finish what you started'.

You can't finish everything you started, but the United States in recent history (from Vietnam up until now) has been known for having no "spine." I think that while we're there we should finish the job. It's not like we're killing people because we feel like it.

Vietnam was a bit different. There were a lot of people there who did not want change. So it wasn't so much quitting as finally realizing we were not wanted. Personally I'm kind of tired of US trying to play world police. That should be the UNs job and we should leave them to it, and not always try to play the part of the big brother.

And I don't see how we have no spine when we were the ones willing to go in to these battles in the first place. Foolhardy maybe but not spineless.

So all I have to say is one country cannot fix everyones problems, especially when we have so many of our own. I would rather see the money spent on Iraq spent on building homeless shelters here, providing more people with the opportunity to get a better education, alternate sources of energy to save the environment and ween our dependence on foreign sources of fuel, and programs to help clean up the inner cities. I don't think one should be out fixing everyone else's problems, until he is able to fix his own. And if the world wants to see a better Iraq, then they can jump in and help.

the mission? dude, the mission was to find Weapons of Mass Destruction - which are currently in Korea being waved in Bush's face and he is ignoring them. Then the mission was to free Iraq and turn it into a democracy which is done! They've done all they can! Being there now is seriously just that they have no way out because they have built their own dictatorship into the structure of the country and if they leave it will all come crashing down.

it doesn't really have much to do with a mission anymore at all. they have no idea what they're doing or what they're going to do.

the ground troops keep getting killed by bombers, and randoms with missile launchers and land mines, etc etc.

some would say that perhaps there might still be a problem there. and maybe they're right. me, iunno.
