Something I thought of today, was the lack of quality that a lot of humor you see on TV, in movies, and in video games isn't really that great nowadays. When something funny happens, aren't you supposed to laugh? Or at least chuckle? Then why is it that when a joke is thrown at me, I only might smile? Sure there is the occasional 5-star joke that genuenly makes me laugh. (And then there's America's Funniest Videos.) Maybe I just don't have a big sense of humor. Or maybe it's the fault of all those sitcoms with canned laughter used when their jokes fail to get their live audiences to go wild. "I Love Lucy" didn't need canned laughter. Somebody seriously needs to hire a professional comedian for their co-writer, though. It almost seems like the jokes made today aren't meant to make you laugh.

...Okay, I'll admit it. I mostly just felt like making a topic about something. But still, one must wonder. Why are real LOL-filled comedies so hard to come by?

Location: Out there. In that place. You know, with the "thing"
Carlos Mencia makes me piss my self. ON A REGULAR BASIS. you sould check him out.

I also like Bob Marley.

Malcom in the middle and Arrested Development are also pretty funny.

Though I still look to cartoons to get my belly laughs. The Brac Show and ATHF never fail, nor do Family guy, South Park, or American dad. Drawn Together is good sometimes but it's kind of hit or miss with me. though I must say the most surprisingly funny show out there today is the Fairly Oddparents. (Butch Hartman also does Danny Phantom which if you can over look its blatant "teenieness," is AMAZINGLY orriginal and well written)

Malcom in the Middle's really funny.

Then again, so many sit-coms today just aren't funny - most of the new ones either:

1) have cheap one-liners that just don't cut it,

or

2) attempt a dirty joke in order to get a laugh.

Seinfeld was great, and the earlier Simpsons were excellent, but nowadays, there's nothing funny anymore on TV, only laugh tracks.

i <3 Seinfeld. Also MASH but i wouldn't suggest watching it since I am apparantly the only one on earth who actually likes that show... well other than my mom - does this mean i was born old?
I can't really remember what is uberly funny, but i know i haved watched quite a few things that have made me nearly die with laughter (and i do mean other than my brother).. havn't watched tv in quite a while. Always find the comedians on "Just for laughs" to be great though.

Comedy these day in a lot of ways has gone "RANDOM". Random is the new funny. Though a lot of people don't really understand how to make random funny and it ends up being lame (which is also a new funny in itself.. if its done right).
A good joke is all in how it is presented no matter what kind of funny it is.

Random can be funny, like the Naked Gun series, and a lot of modern anime.

Then again, I guess I'm such an oldie. You think MASH makes you old? Heh. I'm a Honeymooners fan. Big time. "One of these days, Alice!"

I think I kinda already mentioned how I enjoy "I Love Lucy". I'd buy the DVDs if they didn't cost nearly $50 a season.
