So, I got to work today (for those of you who dont know, I work at Network Video, a rental store) and we were swamped! Eventually, someone said to me "Yep, gotta stock up on things to do during the big storm!" Lmao, I didnt even know there was a tropical storm in the gulf. I got home (at midnight) and heard "there is a hurricane warning for your area" lol
This completely caught me off guard. Yay, no work tomorrow.
Hurricanes are no big deal anymore (unless they pass cat. 3)...it's a common occurence here.

Yeah. When someone who doesn't live in Florida visits, they're like, "HOLY sh*t BATMAN! THERE'S A HURRICANE!" The residents are like, "What? Really? Oh, no big deal."

It's generally like that when people outside of a setting get caught up in something they're not used to.

I'm not too scared of storms. I lived through a tornado (it went over my house), so I'm alright.

I get the occasional hurricane.

But i have to laugh when I hear some bo-hunk school district down south had to close school because an INCH of show fell. Man, Here in Maine, school didn't close unless we started getting more than a FOOT AN HOUR. Inch of snow...pffffft...

We just had a "tornado" here a few hours ago. Not sure if it was exactly a tornado, 'cause it didn't cause a ton of damage. No wait, I guess all those tree branches and the 10 or so downed trees might amount to a ton. A few trees/branches on porches/houses, and a good chunk of a tree on at least one car. Anyway, it's mostly trees and a few downed power lines, and mostly on the east side of town (I live at the edge of the west side). I didn't see anything, but my aunt says she saw the tornado. Or maybe it just seemed like a tornado when debre was flying through the air and bunch of the trees around her house suddenly were breaking apart (a couple uprooted; one is covering her back porch). This is the first time anything to this extent has happened in this town as far as I remember (I hear there was a tornado here once, but many years ago). Funny thing is, our power went out, yet my aunt's didn't. Power finally came back about 15 minutes ago, but the power outage didn't stop us from cooking a couple frozen pizzas on the grill. (Speaking of which, my uncle's grill was blown away, while something was cooking in it. )

Thats pretty funny. Fast Food taken literally.
