Draygone has finished an article due to the RPG Maker never released that Valkysas brought to our attention not too long ago.

<a href="http://www.rpgmmag.com/articles/rpgt4_system.php">RPG Tsukuru 4: Where Could It Go?</a>

A good article and one that could stir up more RM talk. Thanks Dray.

Something I had just realized. If RPGT4 were translated onto something other than PS1, that would also open up the possibility for keyboard support.

Yay for keyboard support!
But if they were to release it for the PS3, that would be bad for me, a next genless guy. :lol

Actually, there are very few PS3 owners in these forums. Luckily, I'm in the minority. I was kind of fond of the downloadable PS store option. No discs, virtual memory cards, keyboard... how can you go wrong?

I want a PSP more than I do a PS3. So personally, a PS Store game downloadable to the PSP would be my favorite choice. But like I said, I could care less where it winds up. As long as we get it. :P

Okay... so there's been a bit of confusion about the whole PSP idea.

There is a function that the PSP has called Remote Play. It's litterally just like a remote access program for a computer. And it is in this fashion that you can play the "PS3/PSP" games that you can download from the PS Store.

How this works is after you download the game. It is in your PS3's list of games. The way to play it on your PSP is you have to have your PS3 on and logged into the net. On your PSP, you have to use the Remote Play function to litterally tap into your PS3. From here you select the downloaded game from your PS3 games on your PSP... and the game will run.

To my knowledge there isn't a way to permanently put these games on your PSP. Even if there was... sony doesn't make Duo cards big enough to hold them. You'd have go thrid party and get a 4 gig for enough room to do anything.

PS1 games released in the playstation store can be permanently put on the PSP. either by copying the game from the PS3 onto the PSP, or by downloading the game directly to the PSP from store.playstation.com

RPG Tsukuru 4's total size (counting both discs) is around 50 MB. the only memory sticks it would not fit on are the semi useless 32MB ones.

So I really think that the playstation store option would be best if they could/would get the rights to it.

You don't have to use remote play to play PS1 games downloaded onto a PS3. You just copy to the PSP.

On the LA and VC possibilitie, while I don't know what all it takes, I do know PS1 games can and have been ported. At least to LA. Castlevania: SotN is on LA and it runs smoothly and looks great.

I believe the answer truly is emulation. Through PS Store, LA or VC, doesn't matter. There's just no way they will ever remake a game this old. Unless its a FF game...

Ask anybody, even hardcore gamers, about RPG Maker and 9 times out of 10 you're gonna get a blank look. For that reason alone, getting an English port will take some serious convincing. And even more devotion and time on our parts.

Time to educate ourselves in the industry. Find our best options and eliminate farfetched possibilities. Then target all of our efforts to the right people. Seek them out and gain their support. We must be prepared for rejection and brush it aside. This will take more than a couple years. So we will have to dedicate ourselves to the cause.
Possibly even help finance the translation.

I personally believe it can be done. It will just take more than we are currently prepared to handle.

SO PREPARE YOURSELF MAG! Time to get busy!

On a related note, somebody created a translation guide for RPG Tsukuru 4 at GameFAQs. Dunno how accurate it is, but it does list some interesting features.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/580224/16017

Actually, I think I've seen this before. Was it ever previously mentioned?

EDIT:

SCORE!!! After doing a search on Youtube for the Japanese title (that is, in Japanese: RPGツク一ル4), a bunch of RPGT4 videos I've never seen before came up. Which is saying something, because I've never seen RPGT4 videos to begin with. :P

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... arch_type=
(Note that some of the videos are not of RPGT4. Actually, more or less stick with the "Prince" series of videos.)

For those interested, this video features some battles:

This whole post makes me go "BUH?"

The right people are agetec. you know, the guys who share ownership of the title "RPG Maker" in the US. There's really no seeking to be done.

They know people in the community want the game.

We have no idea if they want to, or even COULD release it at this point (it wasnt even developed by enterbrain, it was developed by Argent, which could complicate things more).

Well by people I mean individuals at Agetec that could be swayed into helping as well as any subsidiarry (suck at spelling...) companies that need the work or a chance to do a localization.
