1. Could you go over what you presented this year at Magcon? This year I presented two new levels of my upcoming game, Josh's Adventure.
2. What do you think might be a good estimate of when you might release your game? The ideal date would be at the end of this year, but February 2012 looks the most likely right now.
3. Is there anything you wish you would have added to your presentation? Nope! I included everything I wanted to show.
4. What did you think of the presentation and live reactions this year? Excellent. Picking Lantis as the game player was a really good choice because of his general wackiness and being prone to screw up. Everyone gave appropriate comments, laughed a lot, and everyone just seemed to have a really fun time playing the game, which is really important. I also like how the players tried to access everything the game had to offer (checking for world 4, getting tokens for the strategy guide, selecting every option in the menus).
It was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Well done.
5. What other games at MagCon did you find impressive and why? I think Veil of Corruption really brought out the best presentation this year. The level of quality and technical prowess from Lausen really surprised me, and the dialog and story were also very solid.
Drew was the other real impresser for me, because his RPGM2 take on Jester's Hunt was great. Sure, it didn't work as well as it should have, and there were nagging comments throughout, but I adored it. The game really impressed me with how well it nailed that general feel of the original, because that's such a hard thing to do.
Dragon Child 2 was also interesting for the amount of options it gives you. With some more explaining and dialogue, this could be a good game.
6. What other games would you like to see a live presentation of at MagCon 2012? I can't think of any recent, in-development games coming out that should get played. Perhaps the MagCon goers can select a short, older game from the Vault they wouldn't mind playing through, and give it a LP. Just a suggestion!
7. Can we expect to see something from you next year? Josh's Adventure is too far in development to show up next year. However, maybe I can try and make a short something for next year, or update one of my older ones. The Magcon is always so good to my games, I want to submit something!
This year's presentation of Josh's Adventure is below.
