Okay, I'm running fairly low on videos, so we need to think about getting together and getting something under way. I talked with Syn and he's going to have to sit out a few races as he makes the transition to Florida. Since he was going to pick the next race, and can't, we've decided to let Fay pick the next race due to how bad she hulk smashed us in Mario Kart.

So we'll try to maybe get something going this weekend if we can manage it. Next week is the last week I'll have before I head to Dallas for work training... so we don't have a lot of time.

So! Mickey Mouse and the Castle of Illusion. Problem. I believe after you run out of continues(2), you cannot get back to the stage. And no stage select codes apparently... so in all honesty, that sucks. So you can save state at the start of each level as needed. As soon as you hit an exit door or grab a gem, you are good to save. All I ask is that you save/load state when you are out of continues. Then you can just load state in Gens or your emulator of choice. In Gens, save is F5, load is F8.

My only rule is no backtracking to grind on enemies or exploit item respawns(I don't think you can do the second one however). For fun- you can get an extra life at the stage result screen. As soon as you see it, mash start! This should prevent having to save load states, too.

Stars give a point of health if you collect 3. Bags are throwable items, which you need in certain part of the game. I believe the max is 30... you press A or B to throw them with default controls.

Jump is C. Jumps won't kill enemies unless you hold C, or press down while jumping. You wanna do that to kill enemies. You can also throw the throwable of the level(examples: apples, marbles, candles... they all work the same and fit the themes of the levels).

I chose this game since it is getting an HD remake as well, and it's one of my favorite older games. I don't recall being super skilled at it however, and I haven't played it in 10 years. But it shouldn't be too hard hopefully.

Since we have a sit timeline thing going on here where we now have two winners, perhaps we can alternate between races. I will let you know of my availability to race the week of the final Mickey video.

I'm missing two people's videos for part 2 of Castle of Illusion. If I could get those soon, I'd be eternally grateful.

Okay, so here's what's going down. We will continue to race without Syn as long as there will be Fridays before he gets his rig up and running. But when he's good to go, regardless of who wins, we are going to go back to Sonic 2 as per his original choice.

Until then, we'll just do our one-two thing. After reading the comments in the last race, it seems people legit want to see Chrono Trigger. And I know I'm probably the only one on the group that's actually excited in doing it. But that's what's going to be next. SK mentioned interest in this race, so I'm saving a spot for him. He event went so far is to buy a new mic set up so his doesn't have his usual problems like he had with past Magcast recordings.

The way this will work is that I will provide a rom with a save that has all the characters at level 99. We will be using the game plus mode option. You will only be allowed to challenge Lavos once the Black Omen has risen. Walkthroughs and save states will be allowed. While this is a full RPG, this should still be possible to do in a single evening. At max, two. But seeing how much of an investment this will be, let me know if you want to drop out of this one.

I'd like to preferably do this the weekend of 24th. Maybe right after Magcast or early Saturday/Sunday. If this goes well, I think I'd look forward to doing other RPGs hacked at max level.

I should be good to go to race this Friday (so long as nothing comes up). I have all my gear, so I can go. Plus, I'd love to partake in a Chrono Trigger race, though mark me as tentative. Not sure how things will be when that happens.

This Friday I'll be out of town and Ix will be recovering from surgery. 24th would be the earliest we could get this together.

Poor Ixz. I don't know what's going on man, but I hope everything goes well and you have a super-fast recovery.

Anyways, about the whole Chrono Trigger thing- I am very much down for that either way. I feel that if you wanted to sate people who don't want to watch months of Chrono Trigger, it could be something to upload either weekly or bi-weekly amongst a regular race video. I think a regular game race could be fun.

The 24th would probably be good for me.

And Ix is having his wisdom teeth removed.

24th should be fine for me too. Though ugh... I need to get my wisdom teeth removed eventually too. They want me to, but right now the money and time aren't working for it. Which I am actually thankful for!

Okay, so after the second part of Gunstar Heroes, I won't have any videos to upload. So if we want to keep videos uploaded every friday, we HAVE to record this weekend and I'll need the first video of what we record sent fairly soon.

Seeing as a lot of us don't get home till five-ish and we are doing Magcast, we probably won't be able to finish the race if we start it friday. So we can either start friday, and finish saturday/sunday, or just get together early saturday/sunday (like around noon-ish) and knock it out then.

Anyone have a preference?

If we're racing Sonic 2, I don't see it being an issue doing it Friday night. If we did an early Saturday thing, I probably couldn't do it, since I'm sharing a room. I would say if we can knock it out all Friday night, let's do that. If not, maybe Saurday night? Is this for Chrono trigger or Sonic 2?

I was talking about Chrono Trigger... though if you guys wanted to drop that for Sonic 2, that's fine too.

I think there's more than enough time this weekend for both. It's a holiday weekend and I'll be available (and should be mostly healed up) for all of it. I think we should do Chrono Trigger first, though. I can beat Sonic 2 in about an hour, so because of that, we'd only need a spare hour somewhere and I could easily take the win.

I'd be down for CT. I'll need to get a new mic for the new computer, but I can do that during the week.

I'm down for CT this weekend- either new game+ or no. I can play however long it takes.

Actually, doing both would be awesome. And yeah, I'm off monday as well. So if that's a possibility, that would rock.

I talked to SK, and his mic should have come in. So he might be able to attend. Dray mentioned that he was interested but didn't say for sure if he wanted to (or could) race this weekend.

Well, are we doing New Game+ and regular this weekend? You know I can do both. I can stock up on snacks and pee in a bottle. Well, I guess that second part really, really isn't necessary, but yeah!

You know, Fay, maybe one day we can get someone else and race a legit CT non + mode. I bet SK would be up for it. But yeah, CT Game + and Sonic 2 this weekend if everything works out.
