thank you for the support Fayorei!! Really appreciate it. Well i don't have Hypercam. But i do have audacity to record my commentary and cyberlink powerdirector to record the video. Just can't have sound on the video correct? I know that you all have used emulators but i don't have one and have no idea how to use one. Is that going to be a possible issue? I have DKC3 on my Wii if that will make it easier. If you guys can explain how these let's races go for you guys? just to get a better understanding on how they all go.

Honestly, I don't care how anyone actually plays the game. Virtual Console, emulator, actual SNES, it really doesn't matter. It's the same game. But as long as you can give me a single file that has isolated just the gameplay footage and just your voice, you're good to go.

The reason it needs to be that way is that if everyone included the game audio, once everyone's parts are in place, the sound would be unbearable to listen to. That's why I just overlay tracks from the game in the background. Also, you'll need headphones or some other method to assuring that our skype conversation doesn't pick up in your mic as well. Failing to do that will cause an irritating echo effect. Other than that, just make sure you don't desync and have decent frame rate and you're golden. These already take half of forever to edit even when everyone provides good footage. But yeah, as before, all the details are on the first page.

2) When I edit these videos, I will need the file of your run given to me as one video file. This file needs to have NO game audio. I also need your voice isolated. So no in-game audio and none of the conversation we are having on Skype. This will make it the most painless to sync up whenever I start cutting the video together.

3) It is highly recommended you use a headset when recording. That way you can still listen to your in-game audio as well as our Skype conversation without having to worry about either of them being picked up in your mic while trying to isolate just your voice.

I understand these questions sort of. Everything else is fine. Just the voice isolated part, no in-game audio and the conversation on skype. I just need a better explanation on what your trying to say exactly. I also do have a headset, but still feel puzzled how to work it all out. I just feel puzzled by what your trying to explain. As for the rest of the requirements and rules, i am perfectly ok with and good to go. i don't have an emulator but i use cyberlink powerdirector to use to record my videos and i can use audacity to record my commentary if that will make it easier.

oh also, the way i produce the video at the end, sure using mpeg 2 to make the quality look better on the video, it does take a few hours to upload on youtube. So if that part will be an issue, i don't know what else to try. Cyberlink is the only thing i can use that will keep from de-sync and will have good quality. It's the uploading to youtube part is an issue that it has. I just hope that will not be a problem. As for the rest though, i am good to go on the requirements, the rules, and ready to have some fun!! I know i am new to this forum, but i would like to get to know you guys well and looking forward to my very first let's race with you all!!

The most simplistic way I can describe what I'm looking for is that... the video file I need from you is your gameplay footage ,and your voice, and absolutely nothing else. No sound effects or music from DKC3, and none of our conversation from Skype. Just your gameplay and just your voice in a single video file.

The headset is to guarantee that you don't pick up anyone else's voice other than your own.

actually last time i recorded a LP a year ago with some of my friends, didn't catch there voices on the video. just through my headphones on skype. So yeah i'll just make sure to do that. So i just want to be clear on this, no game audio when we do the recording, commentary only through the skype call without it echoing, and when we finish the video, we should only here the commentary from everyone and no game audio from our files correct? Just want to be sure i am clear so i can get some help from my friends on this. i never done any recording with no game audio on the video before. But it shouldn't be a problem.

Just your voice on your recording. I'll piece the conversation with everyone's individual voice myself. If you pick up anyone else in your video, it will echo over eveyone else's which would be a bad thing.

Yup! Headsets work fine for getting rid of it. I imagine just headphones and a stand mic work too, just not getting people talking on your end.:D

I'm excited to DO THIS THING with my newer headset. It noise cancels like a boss from the headphone audio.:D

ok i did my test on cyberlink. the stage is set for me. As long as the video file doesn't corrupt, i should be fine. But i checked and i should be good to go. So anyway, how is everyone today?

Hello, there. I thought I'd inform you that I just recently joined the website. I find these Let's Races posted on YouTube really fun to watch, and I hope that maybe someday I could join a race. I've read the guidelines, and I hope you'll consider me. If you do, I'll follow the guidelines to the best of my ability, and I'll also have some questions for you before joining and/or starting a race. Even if you don't consider me, I still invite you to view my YouTube channel. I've done several LP's over the past year, and I think you might enjoy them.

Thanks and welcome. Like I mentioned to Raiza, I'd really like to get to know you before we get you plugged into the race. The thing is, we have a certain chemistry together. All groups of friends do. Not saying ours is anything super special, it just is what it is. And throwing someone in who neither of us really knows kind of cramps it up a bit. Playing with someone know one knows makes it a little awkward.

So yeah, browse the forum and maybe jump in the chat sometime. Once we get comfortable with each other, we'll be glad to throw you in the fray.

I understand. I'm willing to chat whenever I'm online. Also, I posted a link to my YouTube channel in the Website URL box on my profile. If you want to see what LP's I've already done, feel free to check it out.

Hey, Lantis. There was one thing I forgot to ask last night...The files I can create when recording are MPEG, MVP, and WMV. Would you expect either one of those?

Bad and good news! My laptop AC adapter brick has been crackling and static-y. Not good! I need to buy a replacement from Asus, but shipping may take a bit. And this is the computer I use for LPing, so. D: I am spoiled by Amazon prime. Hopefully, Asus has em in stock and it's fast!

GOOD NEWS. I was having sound glitches recently, so I updated my sound drivers finally. I NOW HAVE STEREO MIX AVAILABLE. No more fooling with virtual audio cable to record game audio in LPs!
