It's always dangerous to post a ranking of games, but I want to know what you thought was your personal favorites.

Game of Show:
Veil of Corruption by Lausen

This was the most visually and thematically appealing game of our lot this year, imo. Great graphics, cutscenes, gameplay, and atmosphere come together in this great MagCon demo.

Most Improved:
Josh's Adventure by 1ce

I admit, I laughed at Lantis' LP of a certain game of 1ce's in the past and I didn't really know what to make of this new game called Josh's Adventure. At MagCon 2010, he came out with a quirky game that piqued my interest. This year, I believe that he's finally in the groove of what he wants this game to accomplish. Great job.

Notes:
Jester's Hunt (RM2) - I thought was a great-looking game. I thought it was amazing to see a transition done from RM1 to RM2. Pretty surreal. The effects were good, as well as the boss fight at the end. I love RM2's action abilities.

Feng Shui - This was a tough one because the game doesn't give you much of a direction when you start. On the bright side, props go to all the possible options with character interaction and the world map.

Order of Chaos - TTC randomly showed up with his tech demo and he actually showed off some cool sh*t. Of note, his world map that constantly recorded your position on it and the airplane. There's a game in there somewhere.

I think I was most excited about Veil of corruption above all else. There's something about traditional style RPGs that really just get to me. I guess I'm just that kind of old school gamer.

I think 1ce's presentation was fantastic. It may not have all the custom sprites and whatnot from other RPG Maker 1 games of the same genre (Fu-Fu the Acid Trip Bunny) but I think that he's doing a lot more than that in the way of puzzles and level progression. Really looking forward to how that'll end.

The Jester's Hunt demo in RPG Maker 2 was actually quite impressive. I bet it would be more so if we didn't actively seek out glitches and what not. I remember seeing Drew stream a bit of this as he was making it and I assure you of it's awesomeness.... not that it matters much now, but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

I was also quite impressed to see what TTC had going in RM2. It was more or less a tech demo of a good number of things RM2 is capable of. And for what it's worth, I thought it was all pretty awesome.

Feng Shui? I'd suggest going to Vanquish's Viddler page and watching his playthough. He knew exactly what to do and did a far better job of playing through the game than we did. There was literally NO information on where to go or what to do so we really didn't find much of anything. But the overall game looks like it'll be pretty good once some of these directional issues are worked out.

After seeing that my demo was downloaded over 90 times, no one told me anything bad about it. I am happy to see someone else play my demo. Now I know what is needed to make it a good game for all to play. I will add more story and direction but that is my weak point when making a rpg. :tup

Yeah but...
...is there really a way to battle after kicking the dog? Have you played through your entire demo that way with only the main character in the party? It just seems like it would be impossible to advance.
