In order to do something, you must post it in your character topic. Each action has a real-world time cost. Most things are self-explanatory, but pm if you are unsure. The costs are as follows:

1 Day : Walking to a neighboring location
1 Day : Finding a monster to fight
1 Day : Recover 100% HP/MP at Inn (+ 2 gold per level)
1 Day : Finding a Great deal on an item (LCN Price - requires admin)
1/2 Day : Finding a deal on an item (10% off - requires admin)
1/2 Day : Carriage to neighboring location (+ Cost to Ride)
1/2 Day : Recover 50% HP/MP at Inn (+ 1 gold per level)
+ 1/2 Day : Being interrupted by a monster
Free Action : Buying an item
Free Action : Using a potion
Free Action : Posting a listing

As I said, they speak for themselves. Let's do some examples: Jim, the blue wizard of death, wants to travel from Alekia to Chatam. They are on the same continent, so it will take one day to travel. Jim will post that he is traveling from Alekia to Chatam on foot. He is free to say anything happens on his trip, but is unable to give himself money, items, experience, or other such rewards. This will take one day to do. If Jim posted this on Thursday, no matter the time, he can then take action at anytime on Friday, unless otherwise specified. Please note that when traveling, by either horse or foot, there is a chance for a monster to attack. If you post before a message is posted in your character topic, telling you of a battle, then there was no battle.

Back to the example, Jim leaves Alekia on Thursday and will arrive on Friday, but OH NO!! Jim is attacked! An admin has posted in his topic informing him of the battle. He should report there and fight, however, he can still post in his character topic to finish the day if he is short on time. Please be aware that he cannot use items he buys then, in the middle of a fight. Attempting to do so will result in punishment.

So Jim wins the battle and arrives at Chatam. However, the fight has taken some time and now Jim loses half a day. Jim can still do things that take a full day to do, but will technically only be half complete by the end of the day. This is really only important for jobs where time is important or for meeting with other people. If, for some reason, Jim misses a day and doesn't post, he will have a full day to start, the same if someone decides to pass half a turn (to wait for someone, for an example).

So, in summary, costs are real-time costs. Days are not 24 hours, but after a day action is taken, only free actions can be done for the rest of that day. You could post at 11pm on thursday, and then 12:15am on friday, but that wouldn't be nice. I'm up at all sorts of hours, so don't expect that just because you post at time X you will be safe from monsters. Check the map to see if crossing a dungeon is required to make it from a place to another place, as there will be a higher encounter rate in dungeons. If you need to travel to another continent, you must do so from a port. Item discounts aren't available to lacourn prices, as they are already cheap. You can use potions anytime before or after battle (and during battle, but that takes a round). Don't be caught injured... Also, have fun.

(Note: In order to use potions and sleep at an INN, you must give your potion or money to a person. For potions, click on items next to your name, then click on give. Give the item to "Item Taker". For INNs you have to donate the amount it costs (2 gold per level for a full day, 1 gold per level for a half day) to "Inn Owner". Traveling by sea takes a ticket, which you must buy and give to "Ticket Taker". If your travel is paid for, then you will be given a ticket. Here are the only posts made by those people)
