Mission 1
My warriors’ first time out into the world was definitely what you would call an eye opener. One of the most guarded cities of Rajia, Dowl, lay barren. Not one guard in sight or a citizen, for that matter. The first of my loyal minions took this opportunity to loot the houses for much need equipment. ‘Tis a bit barbaric, but it must be done for their survival. A fighter without arms is rather useless.
Once prepared, they continued through the city, only to come across a terrible scene. Several corpses lay about the cluttered alleyway. The assailant, whatever it was, was able to dodge the volley of bullets that were shot at it. Perhaps, things would have been easier for us if we where to witness the slaughter. While the scene was gruesome, not one drop of blood was at the site. One can, but ponder as to how several people were cut down without leaving anything.
Afterwards, they proceed through the alleyway and eventually to a courtyard. The site was much worse than the previous. Mounds of bodies decorate this area. Not even the children were spared by this beast. The untrained eye would blame a wingless, but this just doesn’t pan out. Before there was a moment to investigate the area, the group was surrounded by dark ghostly creatures. These shadows didn’t seem to be very strong at all. My men were easily able to take each out in one hit. However, they attack from nowhere and are large in number. They most likely caught these poor bastards off guard. Seems unlikely that the shadows killed all of them on their own, though. The last shadow ran off into the mansion up ahead. If my minions give pursuit, we may find out the answers that we seek.
One overly, eager warrior ran into the mansion ahead of the others. He was attacked by an odd creature, lurking in the darkness of the mansion. It was difficult to tell what that thing was, but it became obvious that this creature, called Malek, was involved with those deaths. Malek apparently was the one summoning these shadows. This beast was something else, alright. Not only could he bring shadows to his aid, he could also detach his own limbs. This allowed him to be in several places at once. He would play his little game of hide ‘n seek to lure everyone into a trap. My guys finally catch up to him in the basement.
The basement was filled with books based on reviving the dead. How foolish. Mortals cannot bring back those who have died. Malek could possibly be the result of an attempted resurrection. The final battle against Malek was a disturbing as he was. Fighting off his very limbs, along with those annoying shadows, finally paid off. Every spec of him was destroyed. There was a sense of relief, but it wasn’t over yet. The beast was dead, now to deal with its master.
My men investigate the mansion to hear an argument between two individuals. One of them was upset about all of his test subjects being killed. Neither one of these guys sound like someone you would like to party with. As one of my men try to sneak up on them, the door is demolished and out steps the culprit, Vladimir. He wields a sword converted from an ancient Naroqian spear, the Impaler. The battle was a crueling one, for his weapon drasticly boosts his overall powers. Just before my men were at the brink of death, the final blow is taken upon Vladimir. However, his brother comes along to burn Dowl to ashes. Everyone was lucky to escape in time.
