It's not that you should avoid carbs, but avoid anything with a particularly high glycemic index. Different carbs are metabolized differently. To simplify, Wiki has a nice little table for reference. The low to mid GI index foods are ideal for dieting. You'll generally want to get your carbs from th...

I hear what you're saying, but wouldn't you say that if someone really tried to follow all of that advice, that it might discourage them from attempting to change their diet for fear of too much work? Nope, because weight-loss is a lifetime commitment that takes strict self-discipline. I won't play...

That's a whole lot of games to have spinning around at once. Isn't it difficult to balance all that out? I know I can only concentrate on a few games at once. I guess I've built a massive attention span for gaming. I mean, I develop on a lot of projects on my own in some of my other spare time. Kee...

Lots of metal fans here. Not really a fan of the genre myself, other than some crossover.

You know what they say about idle hands... You never know, he could be simultaneously playing those games. I am. I clock about 5 hours into gaming per day, (usually less, but never more) and I alternate which titles I'm playing throughout different days. I spend some of my other free time on exercis...

There's an awful lot on my backburner. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest (Wii / N64 emulation) - going for a 100%, no-death clear - currently around the Ice Temple * I already achieved this with the original OoT in the past Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (Wii VC) - going for a 100%, no...

So, a character can only equip one skill at a time then? If I assign a skill to a character, then they purchase another skill from a shop or receive it from an event, this new skill replaces the one that I had originally assigned to the character? I'm familiar with how character classes and the like...

I'm still not sure I understand. Honestly, this skill and ability menu has been extremely confusing. In the character editor, there is a selection that allows me to give a skill (only ONE skill) to a character. Does this mean that any given character can only have a single skill, ever? I can't place...

Another question... I'm a little confused with how abilities / skills work. From what I do understand, you can give one to each player character. What I would like to do is tie some skills to equipment. (for instance, I would like to have a sword that can counterattack) When I go into the skills men...

Sorry for the double post. I actually thought of a few ideas for the plot. I'm recycling some older material of mine, but it's otherwise an original story for this specific project. The first few paragraphs outline backstory and set the stage for exploring dungeons and gathering key items. The later...

The problem with just counting calories is that you're not accounting for nutritional balance. Different sources of carbs have different effects on the body. If you're consuming refined sugars, you're stressing your liver and causing your insulin to ramp all over the place. This puts you at a very r...

I'll have to research that game. I've heard of the Might & Magic series, but I'm afraid the only game I've played is Crusaders. But in hindsight it kind of brings a conundrum to mind: How do you balance an expansive world of exploration with a focused set of game goals? From what I've played, it...

I've toyed with RPGM1 for years, but it took a while for me to grasp the inner workings of the game system. I have made attempts at serious projects in the past, but because I planned the details around so much misunderstanding of the system, these projects never fell through. Now that I have a bett...

I lost 80 lbs. a few years ago, so maybe I should weigh in on this subject. My biggest advice is to lose the sugars. Just do away with sweets altogether, aside from the occasional serving or two of natural fruit. Fruit juice blends are fine, but make sure they're completely 100% natural - no added s...

What disadvantages does the philosophy of individual rights have from your point of view? I'm not in favor of "separate-but-equal" rights either, but I think you're stretching things just a bit. Don't you think he's sweeping the issue under the rug? Don't buy into political rhetoric. He n...

Basically, Ron Paul doesn't want to go out and support any particular group. Politicians don't typically go out and support any particular group that might cost them votes. Ron Paul is not the only one who refuses to touch base on LGBT rights issues. Even some Democratic politicians won't go near t...

A bit of an addendum to my first post... I'm designing a game were experience levels are disabled. Characters would raise their attributes by consuming items. (such as food and vitamins) Since the STA and INT attributes affect HP and MP growth, would they really serve any function in my game? If the...

Hey, that's not a bad idea. I'll have to give that some consideration! Here's a possible arrangement: Water Fire Plant Ether -------------------------------- Water 25 50 150 100 Fire 150 25 50 100 Plant 50 150 25 100 Ether 100 100 100 100 Weakness: Plant > Water Water > Fire Fire > Plant

Well, this is a tough one. I would hate to have spells that very clearly suggest some kind of elemental property, yet the game treats them all alike. It limits how creative I can be with accessories, as well. I wanted to have rings that would protect against certain elements, for instance.
