Slayers' Reign's fate is pretty much up in the air right now.

Well I didn't mean this literally of course but I haven't heard too much discussion of RPGM2 other than a few individual developers.
@Erika I thought most of your plans were for RPGM1 though including Slayer's Reign?

First as a quick off topic observation, I'm sure that I saw Leviathan's post back when he made it in 2009 but I haven't seen any posts by him subsequently with the new avatar and sig so it is weird to come back to these threads and see what seems to be some ghost just sitting there both in the actual content of his avatars and sig as well as just in the sense that they seemed to have penetrated the thread rather than being there all along (even though it was) all because your avatar and sigs change for all your posts rather than just the posts you make anytime after you change them (unless of course I am mistaken and it was always like this and I forgot). Back to the topic. I was thinking of an item today that I wanted to make for my RPGM3 game Action2 which enhanced one status but lowered an attribute to do so and of course there is no way to do that. As a matter of fact there are no negative (for the party) item status or point values allowed in any RPGM3 item let alone combining attribute changes with a status change. In other words you can't for example create an item that is itself poison (even though you can have an event do it). You can only create items that CURE poison because that's good for the party. You also can't create an item say that makes you faster (a status change) BUT that requires your attack stat to decrease. I don't think you can really do this with RPGM1 either but I know in RPGM2 it is just a matter of adding a line or two of script in your item or direct or indirect effect scripts (can't remember which one). It really makes me wish we had the power of RPGM2 with the non-kiddie graphics and easy to build maps of RPGM3. Ugh! It also kinda makes me wonder why no one is really making games for RPGM2 anymore. It seems to be all about RPGM1 or RPGM3 for the consoles.

Hey I totally agree with the fact that it is more time consuming to make a game in RM2, thats the main thing that keeps pushing me back to RM3.
It's still such a powerful game though.

Sounds cool. Glad that you're interested in making an RPG Maker 3 game!

First I'd like to thank whoever suggested to me (in a topic I can't seem to find) that I stand my PS2 on its side. It worked (I should have tried it a long time ago) and now I can play RPGM2 again!
After playing some of my old games and games from other developers, it has been reconfirmed just how much power you have with RPGM2.
I would love to have the time to get back into RPGM2.
But to be honest, most of what I have been concerned with recently, in particular the exploration of philosophical ideas, are better suited on RPGM3. I am less concerned with trying to innovate game playing applications on RPGM2 then I am with presenting my ideas easily. My goal is to continue to attempt to make mature, interesting, and accessible gameplay on RPGM3...for now.
