Defenders of Light was one of the last games done with RPG Maker (although
that sentence is not true, as many are working on games today). As such, it
has a mighty show of technical and graphical prowess. Not to say it doesn't
have any good gameplay under the hood. In fact, it's pretty fun. The main story is of how the evil Mortat took the stars of the universe for himself forcefully from the elders of the Three Worlds. However, he wasn't expecting them. The catch is that you have five different characters and each character has a specific ability that can help you traverse the various lands throughout the game. For example, Alice the young woman can turn into a boat and sail across water and lava. Keisha, the mysterious cat, can jump across large gaps. This aspect truly makes for some fun exploring and allows the player to return to previous areas to see what different characters can do. And did I mention there are no random battles? Shawn Forbes has been a great influence on the RPGM community, and this game shines as one of his brightest. Do yourself a favor and download it right now! -Ixzion |
