Something Stupid IX
Developer: Draygone
Genre: : Adventure
Release: 2004
Rating: Everyone

Something Stupid IX is one of the various games submitted by developers in the RPG Maker community for RPG Maker Magazine's "Make the Craziest RPG" Contest.

"Once upon a time...is a stupid way to start a story..."

You can only imagine what an intro like that could lead to.

You command Hero, World Saverer and the hero of the other 8 Something Stupid games. In this edition, he receives a challenge to finish Something Stupid IX in 12 days! Not being the one to refuse challenges, Hero accepts the offer. He goes to the King to request a quest from the King. However, once there, he accidently unseals the evil that he sealed in the first place!

Things just got tougher for our hero, Hero.

Presentation
+ Great graphical design. Everything looks fresh and beautiful and the musical choices are fantastic. Way to go!
- There's a couple of spots that could have used a little more sprucing up, but that's nit-picking. I'm not deducting for that.
[Final]: 25/25%

Features
+ There are no real features, per se, but it's nice to chat with all the townspeople.
- Not a whole lot going on in this department. It's basically meat and potatoes, no matter how delicious.
[Final]: 14/25%

Debugging
+ Perfect. I didn't find a single error.
- I didn't find any errors.

Fun
+ This game is a great parody of RPG clichès. Almost every joke hits the mark and the game is downright funny.
- If only it were a bit longer.
[Final]: 23/25%

[Overall]: 83/100% (8.5)
Medieval-style RPG pot-shots at its best! Great design, great sounds, great story. This is a must-play.

Craziness Factor:
60/100

While great fun, I see this game as more humourous than crazy.
