Our Topic: What do you think of Valentine's Day?

Before I start off my response to this month's topic, I have to make a few announcements. First off, THANKS DAVE CARTER (inking) and GLOOMY (coloring) for the amazing cover! I know everyone out there has to agree that this cover is quite good. The next thing I wanted to say was that we have a new addition to the Editorial team. Although he really wasn't supposed to post an Editorial, I've decided to give HyperSonicSpeed a place on our panel (at least for this time. :p). And finally, this is now THE OFFICIAL RPG MAKER MAGAZINE endorsed by ASCIIDave! How about that? The only thing is that we now have to watch the content of this magazine a little more closely now. No more "FUs" or "synonym for butt" here. See? It's happening already! Anyway, on with my thoughts.

So, what does the Big Boss Man think about Valentine's Day? Honestly, I don't have any personal stance on it either way. As we all know, it was invented by Big Business to boost sales after Christmas and before the next big holiday. But I digress, let me move to the sentimental value of it.

From a romantic's standpoint, Valentine's Day is probably the most perfect holiday in the world. There's candles, candy hearts, roses, cards, you name it, all waiting to be presented to your sweetheart, if you have one. Which brings me to a counterpoint of this day.

If you have no one to celebrate with, then Valentine's Day simply blows. That wasn't too professional of me, but that's the idea in a nutshell. It's a reminder of your social standing, and may bring your spirits down a bit. Or you don't care. And not caring about it is a good thing.

I just don't understand the need to buy so much stuff for Valentine's. Don't buy a dozen red roses. And where did THAT come from, anyway? What if you bought 11? Then it's not good enough? Get the heck outta here. I'd buy a single rose, if anything. Something you make yourself shows that you care more, imo.

So...that's all of my thoughts on this holiday. I hope I killed some of your brain cells reading my random thoughts on this subject. :D

Actually. I don't think it's too special. What was really important to me was the 17th- the day my girlfriend and me started to go out. So, my girlfriend and I hung out on V-Day. But you know- it was pretty much like any other day- cept we made each other gifts and gave each other our favorite candies. WEEEE!!!!!

I actually think its a great "holiday" that helps us to remember that love is one of (if not the) most important aspects of life. To me, it just serves as a day to furthur the emotions we feel every other day.

It's a good holiday to get random people pissed off at me.

To me? I think it's just like any other day to me. Most people spoil Valentine's day. Couples buying each other presents and candy for their partners, but they never do that on any "regular day". If I had a girlfriend, I wouldn't get her anything for Valentine's Day because why should I have to buy her something on a specific day to show that I care about her?
