So... this morning, I went with my best friend's parents to get some breakfast. They were on front and me and one of their sons in the back.
She was driving carefully, because the road was slippery and there were lots of curves, but. But going down a hill, we start sliding left and right, and hit a fence from the front side(the kind of fences they put on curves, specially if you are on a mountain. Not sure how common there are outside PR) and the car kept sliding until it stopped with us facing the opposite side of the fence.
We were OK, we had the seatbelt on, and there were almost no damage to the car.
But my friend's mother (who was driving) freaked out and started crying. But the rest of us were quite calmed. While we were sliding, I may have thought, "we're screwed, I'm going to break something here" but as soon as it all stopped I was more worried about my friend's mother than the actual accident. I wasn't even worried about it
We just kept going to get some breakfast.

But now, I'm thinking... Why wasn't I scared, Not even for a while? I know I can show little emotion at times, but, it's like I don't really care about what happened. I had to tell her repeatedly, that I honestly don't think it's her fault that (As she puts it) almost gets me killed. (And I really don't blame her)
I'm not feeling like very grateful for being alive or anything. Probably because in the end, there were no disastrous consequences. Or maybe because I'm weird? I dunno...
Just felt like sharing that.

I wouldn't say it's anything of your fault. Honestly I would've reacted the same way. I mean, if that's everything that happened, it sounds very much like it was an accident, and the car could have done far worse. I would've feared the car would've flipped.

Anyway, by the sound of things, it wasn't that big of a deal.

Did you think you were going to die at the time? If not, then maybe since you didn't die, you had no reaction?

If it happened to me, I don't think I'd react any stronger than you did. So, IMO, you're cool with that.

Though I can understand the mother's worry; if anything had happened, it would be her the people would blame then. Perhaps it was this understated responsibility that made her cry and all.

I think I would be calm too. I've had so many bad things happen to me I know how to react now. However I believe it would be different if I was the driver. I would be a lot more scared because you have others lifes in your hands.

I guess that must be it.
@ Bo: I didn't thought I was going to die, but I thought I might get seriously hurt. For a second at least.

I'm glad that you're all right! I would have freaked out, but people have different reactions to different stimuli.:)

well yeah.. maybe she was just over reacting a bit... that's what the fences are there for right?

i remember once my mom and brother and i were driving back from seeing our family for christmas through the mountains etc so it was really icy and all on the roads and we saw a car sail past us that was spinning .... and there was no rail on that road, it just dropped off into trees and river. :/ was a bit afraid for that car but they all looked like nothing was happening as far as i could tell inthe glimpse i got.

glad you're ok though ^_____^ didn't die or even get injured!

Yeah glad ur still alive to tell it.

I almost died 5 times in my life that I can remember. Scary times. I almost drowned 3 times. I got a bad electric shock and the car spun into a guardrail.

I get really bad anxiety about those things.

It's funny how though I still like to go swimming. I still bare the fear of drowning. But like the pain of fire will not stop me from cooking in my kitchen. :p

Some people just go numb. But be thankful too that no pain
has happened. Pain is a very bad feeling. Like the kind that
the pain hurts soooo much you wish you where dead.
