So just so I'm clear, we're saying women should stay in the kitchen and never venture out of a life of ignorant servitude (call it what you want but that's what it boils down too, but they say ignorance is bliss right) and the man should be the breadwinner.

How the hell does that even seem right? Tradition is not always right you know (and usually isn't). Maybe when hunting was the extent of our workforce, but most of today's workforce can be either gender so I see no reason to hold on to the idea the man works and supports the woman.

I think we should be equals (besides the minor differences in muscle mass and the obvious differences in excretion). Why should it be that the woman stays home and the man provides, or the other way around for that matter. If that's the way YOU want to have YOUR relationship then fine, but I don't think it should be the norm, or what we strive for.

Also there is a lot more in play than just women working with the rich/poor divide. A lot of that is due to over inflation and the apathy of the middle class who are just interested in getting just above the system. And of course greed, Humans are greedy by nature for the most part (actually most of nature is, though they seem to have a little better checks than we do).

This "I'm just saying.. Food and sex are the two main things that keep a man happy. And thats all women needed to worry about." is bullsh*t and sexist (though I'm sure it's just a gross generalization, right?). Sure I would like that but I wouldn't be happy unless I had an equal relationship. I can cook my own food if I need to (and would like to cook for others on occasion and have the same done for me), and the sex part I can take or leave, and should not be about giving or receiving but a mutual act.

I think blaming the whole rise in the divide of rich vs poor on women working is about as plausible as blaming violence on video games.

Sorry I'm just pretty adamantly against where this topic has gone. Not saying the old way doesn't work and some people can't be happy that way (if you are and don't feel oppressed and feel the relationship is equal that way more power to you) but I don't think it's the way things should be. Obviously things change a bit once a kid comes around, but again I think both partners should have an equal share in the caretaking of the kid, not one not work and take care of the kid and the other just have dinner with them.

Of course I believe strongly in a high internal locus of control so maybe that biases my point a bit, but I still think it takes more than food and sex to make a man happy (this man anyway).

As for MS Breadwinner, I don't think she has any less right to complain than all the men that do about women who've done them wrong (gee don't know where I've seen that before). People make websites for a lot of stupid reasons, that is the power and the bane of the internet.

So before we all get on our high horses, maybe we should make sure we have our feet secured and our hands on the reigns.

these whole women bashing topics are pissing me off.

Yeah, Sounds like to me that that one guy was a real jack ass. And maybe she should have just left him.

But for women to walk around calling them selves Ms. Bread winner, over one dumb ass. Now thats stupid.

Why does shes got to walk around rubbing it in the worlds face? So what. She had an asshole for a man. Does that mean all men are like that?

No!

Get a life and find someone who is worth being with.

Just like all women are not like Ms. Bread winner. She makes all women look bad.

She has one freaking bad time with one guy and she feels the nerve to write a dam book/websight about it. Grow up lady..

Back to how women had it sooo good. Way back when.. Women had money. As long as there man had a good job. And a lot of them did. The man would give the wife there "whole pay check."

There WHOLE PAYCHECK!
There WHOLE CLUCKING PAYCHECK!!!

I still know men like that today. Now thats clucking love. Thats clucking trust for your woman.

Why the hell did them skanks blow that? They where just sitting there rocking the free world. And they got it in there stupid blond heads.

"Oh, women are not important. Women are caged animals that need more out of life. The men have it good. We need to be like them.."

What? Not important. With out us.. Men will surly die. They need us. So we are VERY important.

Being caged up? Take a car go hang out with your girl friends, go throw a party somewhere and enjoy..

Men have it good? They gotta do all the work. Then they come home to us ladies complaining in the manner of a female dog all night.

And... speaking as a women we have the right to biznatch. We miss them. Theres things that us ladies can't alway do on our own. But what happens? The men do get around to helping there woman out. Most men love there women...

But women got it in there head.. We are going to go out and change the world. And they did... for the worst. :|

EDIT: I began to flame Ms breadwinner. So I deleted it.
Sigh.....

says the one that sits at home and complains that hubby isnt making enuff money to pay most of their sh*t. or so the last time i heard...

have u ever tried to look for a job to help out?

i hate the women who sit at home doing nothing but clean and sh*t. they need some thing more to do then that. and no. im not talkin about give the man sex.

anyway. what true said i have to agree with in any case. get some equalty going.

I would not have to look for a job to help out if the world did not need 2 incomes.
As well I am disabled. You know what that means?

Whats done is done.

Do you think the old times where that bad? Are you saying the whole world use to be a really bad thing. And now this new turn of events really makes this world a better place?

I don't know about you. But the divorce rate jumped like it never did before since women started working.

I don't look at that as a good thing.

Equality is great. People should respect one and other. If a women feels she really wants a job so be it. I'm just saying.. Life is now harder because of it.

Harder for everyone. Government is taking advantage of it. Homes are not as clean as they use to be. Because people are tired from work. Children are not getting enough time with mommy and daddy.

Mean while.. Way back when. Money was not a problem.
Ever since this new turn of events. Money is now a big problem and so is relationships.

Breadwinner, first of all, was done EQUALLY. TAI handled this in his post on page 2. I take great issue with her "Be a man and don't ask for spousal support" thing, because she's basically saying that "I don't want equality when it hurts me".

Also, in regards to KK's post, I only mentioned that her explanation is what happened to society. That is correct.

But sending women back to the kitchen? That's absurd! No man's gonna help put that genie back in the bottle! No, women demanded to work outside the house, and that's what they have and are going to keep. I will fight to the death any man who wants to send women back to the homes.

However, that did have consequences, as KK mentioned here:

Quote:
If a women feels she really wants a job so be it. I'm just saying.. Life is now harder because of it.

What must be acknowledged is that when women entered the job market, the amount of workers in the US effectively doubled in size. And because there were 2x more people that might have the same skill set as you might have, companies could pay each employee less than what they could before. What? You won't accept that salary? I have plenty more workers where that came from!

Since there's more money, you can charge more for products and living spaces and all that. And now because the Fed just prints money out of thin air, it's getting harder and harder to live, even on TWO salaries!

I'm interested with this quote. If you hate what you mentioned here, then what would be the opposite of this? I'm genuinely fascinated.

Everyone should be allowed to work. And most of the time, everyone IS allowed to work. But nowadays, life is much more brutal to people. You make a lot of money, you still spend a lot. The more money you have, the more you will spend.

The problem would be better solved if we didn't talk about it, but rather work towards what we want. Honestly, who really gives a sh*t? Two genders that will never see perfectly at eye level; sounds like something that is only resolved through your own personal interactions rather than discussing the absurdity with a few friends.

I honestly don't care what people choose to want. If you want a woman who makes 3x as much as you, good on you. If you want an idiot who can cook, clean, and produce vast amounts of children and provide for you sexually, whatever. It all boils down to individual desires and whatnot. The human being changes him or herself or at least some aspects of themselves when they find the right person or the person that works well with them or whatever. So, in the end, this is pointless banter. Get out of your damn house, and do what you f*cking need to do to live. Everything else will come.

lets blame the morons who f*cked the world up with the current wars going on. EVERYthing has gotten worse and unmanagable since then. prices have gone up alot lately cuz of it aswell.

u only make life harder when u dont wanna do anything about it.

Sure you have, I don't disagree. The federal government determines that someone who is disabled, cannot sustain a job full time (i.e. 40 hours a week 5 days a week.) They may work part time, and even that is good for some, I do not disagree with you there.

Every one has different disabilities though. Some war veterans may have lost a leg during combat, but can perform a desk job perfectly well. Deaf people can perform interperative sign language for other people as long as they can read lips. Sure there are plenty of disabled people out there working, but what about those that find it hard to perform daily tasks?

Either way, this is not the thread to be discussing personal disabilities, it is a discussion about spousal support, so honestly if I choose to work and support my wife, then so be it. I know what I am into, and if for some reason or another she decides to split, if the Judge says to pay spousal support, so be it. It is the law. You will bet your ass though that I will be following up on progress. Spousal Support can be appealed or put up for review if the receiver remarries or for some reason starts making more of equal pay to no longer warrant the subsistance.

ShadowFox1001 has the right idea when he said...

Each person in life makes certain adjustments. In the broad picture Ms. Breadwinner "DID" make a mistake and pick a bum of a husband. I am not bashing on her by saying this. She performed every aspect of HER life perfectly to get to where she is today. She succeded in life and made so much money that she had to pay spousal support. Yeah, it's a mistake that she will literally pay for, but she needs to understand that based on laws that were created for equality, she too is subject to the US Judicial System.

Back to Chrssy when she wrote:

So we point the finger elsewhere, but just how do we make an influencial statement against the people who provide the very freedom by which we live? Anyone can say that "Bush is a horrible President" or that "Clinton really did Inhale" but what does that actually change? The points need to be proven and displayed for the American people to see and decide. Research the facts and make a YouTube video. There will be people that will listen. I've listened, and I support your opinion as well.

Wow. You are gone for a couple days and ...

Ms Breadwinner represents herself only. Period. Maybe others are like here, but it is the fault of individuals not recognizing that their viewpoint of her is their own subjective perspective of her as a single object. Notwithstanding how anyone feels about her, she CANNOT give women a bad name because she only represents herself unless one decides to project her onto all women which is a very biased thing to do.

Don't know about disabilities but for the non-disabled pay for food, inexpensive clothes, occasional movie rental, library card, small house, etc. and you don't need two incomes. Live as a minimalist not a mass consumer and a single income works, but the modern married couple wants to keep up with the Jones as much as ever.
