Yeah... So back to my main idea. We need somethings for the threads.. Also the good news is that I can see when your looking at your PMs and I can also see when your making a post. It does not however tell me where the post is being made. Nor, the thread your in making it.

Anyway, it's nice to know when somebody's looking at a topic. Even moreso if somebody's replying to the topic. 'Cause if you're wanting somebody specific to look at your topic, it's nice to know if they're getting to it or if they're leaving.

I don't think it's possible because of the differences of this forum software. It isn't much like phpbb at all.

If you want to know when someone replies instantaneously why not just set the thread to email you when someone does.
I'm no really sure why I'd have to know who was doing it when.

If its too hard for Ix to do then, its too hard. Just thought he could have add it in the same way its in the forum index and the hammer. I guess its just, not that easy. Yeah, I have my profile set up to send me emails. Sometimes when I'm online an I have a new topic I made, I like to see everyone running to it. Kinda like a bunch of ants running to a pice of fruit. Its fun to see.

Edit: Even if people don't post. Its nice to see that people are at least looking at it.

They're not perfect, though. And besides that, you can't keep track of every single topic like that. You don't know just how active the place is without knowing what people are doing. For all you know, everyone's just sitting around waiting for a post to crop up somewhere.

Hmm, this must have been what the government was thinking. Well we don't know what our people are doing, they could be planning terrorist attacks right now. Let's tap their phones so we can know who says what to who.

Yes this is a complete different situation, and that was a hyperbole (though probably close to the truth behind the beginnings of the Patriot Act), but do we really need to know what everyone is doing on the boards at any given time. If people haven't made posts in the past 5 minutes or so, they're probably not going to. So I think if we were to implement this we should asks peoples opinions on it first.

Maybe. But one could easily wind up leaving just as somebody's about to make a post in a topic of interest. It really isn't a big deal, though. It'd be more of a convenience than anything else.

This is really not a big deal. If people want to hide there status online they can do that if they wish. Its not a bad thing that others are looking at what you are doing. Honestly I like showing people that I'm online. Because I am showing other people that.. "Hey want to PM me or chat? I'm online, I'm free and able to say hello." Thats how I look at it.

If I really did not want people to bother me I would hide my status. But why would I want to do that? I like the friends I have on here. I want them to know I'm online.
