It's a service that lets you watch a ton of anime. And yes, it is free... assuming you don't mind commercial breaks. (But if you're on a web browser, you'll probably be using Adblock anyway.)

Interestingly, you do NOT need an account to watch anything. Though if you want to create a watch list, you could register a free account. Otherwise, you can just watch anime and not have to sign up for a single thing.

The service is also available on Wii U, which is how I found out about it. Of course, on Wii U, you don't have the option to block ads, but for something like this, I'd be willing to watch a few ads here and there, anyway.

(They also have manga, but you need a premium account for that.)

And I'm really happy they brought the service to Wii U, now I'll be able to get comfortable in the living room (Where the Wii U is, and pc is not) to use crunchyroll.
