DuckTales Remastered

DuckTales, Capcom's classic NES platformer is making a return with the help of Wayfoward, the same team that released Shante: Risky's Revenge, and Double Dragon Neon.

DuckTales, originally released for the NES way back in 1989 (and later for the Game Boy), has become something of a cult classic over the years. Remembered for its solid platforming gameplay and some killer music—the Moon theme song is often brought up as one of the best game tracks of all time—DuckTales has been the object of much nostalgia.

DuckTales on an NES was an awesome game and a very finely tuned platformer. Wayfoward did great with Double Dragon Neon (keeping the same mechanics and just improving on them. And Skullmageddon was a hilarious Skeletor ripoff) so I have strong hopes here.

This is one of the last games I expected to get a re-make. But I'm super excited for it.

I was wondering if everyone who starred in the show was still alive. Looks like Capcom is going all-out with this new release. Which brings up something I forgot to mention in the Magcast: if they use that theme song in the game, then every person who attempts to let's play Remastered is in for a guarenteed copywrite strike. =P

Hah! That is true. I guess they could edit it out maybe? Or the people who play nothing but cutting edge stuff and are partnered would be fine. It's with more recent stuff that I think TwitchTV is so much more accommodating.

I'm so pumped. Especially for a new soundtrack by virt (who did the awesome Contra 4 OST).
