I dont know whether theres already a film thread, and i can't be bothered to check, but if there wasn't there is one now.

Get your top 3 films on the go here & discussion is also welcome.

personally...

1) The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
2) Akira
3) Back to the Future

also, has anyone ever heard of a film called Gattaca? Its got Ethan Hawke and Jude Law in it.

YES! I have seen Gattica - that was a really good movie. The first I had ever seen Jude Law in - it was really good. There are a lot of movies that try to make statements about society and the way things are going but most of them end up being cheesy or stupid or overly dramatic - Gattica was actually really good. It is too bad that it was not a more well known movie.

As for the Back To The Future series - prolly one the best things Michael J. Fox ever did. I especially love the part where the car doesn't work and he lets his head fall on the horn and it starts and he does the head pop back up thing.. just that head thing where he is like.. what? is so classic.

Two other series that I will bring up in this post that are kind of from the nineties:
1) Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure / Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
Hilarious movies - totally improbable stuff happens to them and they just take it in stride - very entertaining.
2) Wayne's Word 1 & 2
Kind of like they were based of Bill and Ted except more realistic things happen.. excpet the weird dreams in the deset with Van Morrison and the Naked Indian and stuff..

What is The Sandlot about??? I never heard of it.

Ok, two more good movies.. these are both kind of weird ones.
Rocky Horror Picture Show - cult classic, people would go dressed up around halloween to live movie show things and they had parts where you had to throw rice or do whatever action... it doesn't really have MUCH of a point from what I can tell but it is lots of fun and the songs are totally memorable ^.^

Clockwork Orange - weird movie but it has its points. It was based off a book which I have not read yet but I am working on that... You kind of have to see it (or read it) to judge... it has been quite a while since I saw it so I don't even remember it very well. Good movie though.

I like Fight Club, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and American Beauty... But I don't think I could put them in order of how much I like 'em.

And Barton Fink, Miller's Crossing, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou? and pretty much everything else the Coen Brothers have done.

Payback. I love that movie.

I also liked Independence Day, True Lies, Demolition Man (I can watch this movie a lot).

Oh, and Sin City impressed me, too.

huh?

Terminator 3 is a sick, nasty parody of the earlier films. When i watched it, it felt like there was a stranger in my house, raping my dog and eating all the biscuits.

Hahahaaha, that is funny. One sick movie is the godfather 3. This movie felt like all the celebrities were in jail and all the cons were movie stars.

Godfather 3 was painful, though watching Sophia Coppola's later movies (that she directed rather than acted in) redeems her... Mostly.

The Usual Suspects is awesome.

Regal: Yes, the giant phallus was pretty scary, I would not want to die like that.

Lone showed me Fight Club - that was indeed a really good movie. It has been reccomended to me to read the book by another friend. One good movie I have decided I have to show him is Dead Poet's Society - Everyone seen that? It is so sad, I cry nearly every time I see it.. >.>
