Location: Out there. In that place. You know, with the "thing"
In 2001 I got my own checking account

In 2004 I got my own computer.

In 2006 I got my own TV

In 2007 I got my own car, my own insurance, and got my own digital camera

4 months ago I got my wife.

And now, I've got my own HOUSE!

:party :rockon :D

This place is awesome. It needs a bit of work, but nothing a fresh coat of paint, a little elbow grease, and about 10 or 12 weekends can't fix. It's in Biddeford, which is pretty much right smack dab in the middle of south western Maine. What is particularly nice is the price. Here in Maine the housing market burst particularly hard, due mostly to the fact that we here are pretty much a resort STATE. (our license plates say "Vacationland" on them, NO JOKE.) So, unless you want to live out in North Newhavenport Plantation
(read: "East Moosefuck")
with Old Man Cleatus "Rudy" Dufrenise III and his stable of nervous goats, you're going to have to pay through the nose to get decent housing. Before the crunch, a single family home would set you back $300,000-$400,000 or more depending on your proximity to major tourist destinations. It's technically more expensive in Massachusetts, but then minimum wage there is like $10.50 an hour plus stock options and an attractive 401k, so it evens out. (In Maine, it's $7.15 an hour, and since all the people "from away" leave to go back to where ever "away" happens to be in October, the job market tends to dry up by Columbus day.)
To this end most "Good" Houses still sell for like $180,000+, so this means even the sh*t holes will fetch a hundred grand.

With this knowledge, then, when I tell you that we bought this place for $102,900 you should be fairly impressed.
It is a bit dated, and there are some exposed pipes in one room, But the electricity works, the structure looks solid, and other than some stained walls, nothing seems to be a miss. And this house is HUGE. it has 14 rooms and that's not counting the garage, the basement OR the attached woodshed.
And to top it all off, it is close to the local schools, the shoping district is less than 5 minutes away, as is the Village, the hospital is practically a straight shot 9 min away, the grocery store is RIGHT around the corner, and the neighborhood is neither a slum nor is it to "well to do." (there are just as many apartment houses, as there are single family homes on our street.)

One of the interesting features of this house is that it sits on a 460,000 ton alluvial boulder, so it ain't moving.

Wait, really? In that order? I've had my own TV since I was, like, six. It was one of those models that you changed channels with a knob and it only went up to 13. Although, to be fair, both of my first two TVs were given to me because their owners got new ones and didn't need the old ones, anymore.

Also, I notice the censor isn't completely foolproof.

Yeah, about that... I figured that the protocols wouldent catch it, but if I DID write it out I'd get a warning so I figured I'd spoiler it and those daring enought to check it would warn others it was grenade... just didn't expect the spoiler bar to take up the whole frigging line. :/ Sorry bout that.

I made the attempt at least.

(and yes, it was for the lulz)

But seriously, I GOT A HOUSE!

I'm a bout ready to like, Sqwee my pants here! :D
