Hello. I've decided to make a list inspired by the classic Disney movies that I've seen. Those that may have seen my Videogame Music of Ix's Soul topic should know what they're getting in to.

I decided this time around that instead of making a list of "the best" songs that were sure to get everyone riled up, I made it a "most listenable" list. That means that these are the songs that get the most plays in my stereo. That doesn't mean that they are better than any other song, but I simply listen to it more. And I did rank them based on that. Haha.

I have not seen every Disney movie ever made, so don't get all emo over it.

That said, enjoy this feature.

Please don't post in the thread until I'm done.

Cinderella - Oh, Sing, Sweet Nightingale ->

This song is underrated, a bit, I believe because of it's simplicity. Which is fine. I just like her voice.

#34
The Jungle Book - The Bare Necessities ->

I swear, I'm never looking for this song, but when it comes on, start singing like an idiot.

#33
Pocahontas - Colors of the Wind ->

I've come to appreciate this song a lot more now. Strong voice. It just works.

#32
Cinderella - Bibbidi Bobbidy Boo ->

It's a silly, fantastical song. It's catchy for the chorus, way much.

#31
Aladdin II: Return of Jafar - You're Only Second Rate ->

Looking back, the visuals of this movie are bad. But the music will always be unaffected in such things. This song is really bouncy and shows off Jafar's dark sense of humor. I love songs like this.

#30
The Lion King - Hakuna Matata ->

I like this song a lot, like every other one. The "montage" song of Lion King is something I listen to for the first half, sometimes and the full thing at other times.

#29
Aladdin II: Return of Jafar - Forget About Love ->

It's amazing how well Iago and Jasmine sound together. The best song from Aladdin II.

#28
Lilo & Stitch - He Mele No Lilo ->

The opening credits of the movie. I really like how calm and peaceful the song sounds.

#27
Cinderella - The Work Song (aka "Cinderelly Cinderelly") ->

This is such a catchy song. I love how the high-pitched voices aren't annoying.

#26
Beauty and the Beast - Be Our Guest ->

This is strange in the way I never really like hearing this song until I'm hearing it.

101 Dalmations - Cruella DeVil ->

I love how they just make a song about how big a b*tch she is. Then the blues and jazz come in. Awesome.

As I was looking for this, I stumbled upon this guy's take on it. Way cool.

#24
Toy Story - You've Got a Friend in Me ->

That damn Randy Newman, with his distinctive voice and singing ability. Again, never look for it, but hooked afterwards.

#23
Tarzan - You'll Be In My Heart ->

I don't listen to Phil Collins. But I guess I do, since this song is ace. Really touching.

#22
The Lion King II - My Lullaby ->

A quite sinister ballad from Lion King II's baddie, Zira. Once she starts talking about what she wants to do to the Pridelands and their inhabitants, it makes me want to listen to this all the time. It's so deliciously evil.

#21
Hercules - Zero to Hero ->

It's a great, bouncy and catchy song. Can't help smiling when I hear this one.

#20
A Goofy Movie - After Today ->

I really enjoy this one. It's all the major problems of high school in one song. Great opening song. And the way it ends, superb.

#19
The Little Mermaid - Poor Unfortunate Souls ->

Notice: In one part of this, it gets messed up a little. I'm sorry, but too many of these have the stupid Jonas Brothers version.

Ursula rocks. She is obviously not the most trustworthy person, but in the song she switches up benefactor and tyrant perfectly and has a powerful voice that really carries this one into my repeats.

#18
The Lion King - Be Prepared ->

So dark, so ominous, and has Jeremy Irons' really sinister and intriguing voice to help that!

#17
Beauty and the Beast - Gaston ->

Gaston is such a dick. I love hearing people talking about him and him boasting about himself.

#16
The Little Mermaid - Under the Sea ->

The Academy-winning song from the movie really shows why it won. And after hearing this, why the hell did Ariel still want to go to land? Hell, move me to the sea!

#15
Aladdin - Friend Like Me ->

This is where I got the name of "Scheherazade" for a daughter from. But not the reason for picking this. This is pure Robin-Williams-level energy all throughout.

#14
Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast ->

The eponymous track of the movie is really nice. Angela Lansbury's soft, caring voice sends this one to the stratosphere. A side-note is that I consider Belle to be one of the biggest b*tches in Disney movies and I also hate her.

#13
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - God Bless the Outcasts ->

100% beautiful. You don't hear too many Disney songs talking about God or religion, and one done so well is amazing to me. It's not patronizing or cheesy, either, which helps me listen to it more.

#12
Mulan - I'll Make A Man Out of You ->

Donnie Osmond turns out a great performance in this montage piece. The lyrical progression, the wardrum beat, and chorus, among other things, make this a constant play.

#11
The Little Mermaid - Kiss the Girl ->

It don't take a word, go on and listen to the song. ;)

#10
Aladdin - One Jump Ahead ->

High-energy and funny. How can you not like this?

#9
Hercules - Go the Distance ->

Hasn't everyone though like Herc at one point or another?

#8
Aladdin - Prince Ali (Reprise) ->

Jafar is back on the list with this one. Holy hell, he is so funny turning Aladdin's song on its head. And the laugh at the end. Delicious.

#7
The Lion King - I Just Can't Wait to Be King ->

Youthful exuberance at its finest. I love how young Simba sees the world.

#6
The Lion King II - We Are One ->

The best song from the direct-to-video Disney movies, We Are One feels fantastic.

Hercules - I Won't Say I'm in Love ->

I didn't understand this song when I was younger, but now I understand that it's an atypical Disney love song that's sort of a parody of previous love songs. I WILL say I'm in love with this song. :badumtish

#4
Mulan - Reflection ->

Soul-touching song. Everyone's felt like they wanted to be different or peered into the looking glass wondering who they were. Short, powerful, sweet.

#3
The Little Mermaid - Part of Your World ->

Young naivete meets the desire for something different. Longing and idealization of the place she's always wanted to go. And she wants it so badly. I really feel it. You're a cold-blooded bastard if the song doesn't get you.

#2
A Goofy Movie - I2I ->

Love the energy, love the sentiments. Listen to the full song by Tevin Campbell for maximum goodness like I do on a nearly-daily basis.

#1
Aladdin - A Whole New World ->

This was the biggest non-surprise for the #1 spot. This song is unique to me because while it is a love song, it's also talking about the freedom to do what you want with your life.

Okay, that's the list. Post away!

You know, I find myself singing these in my head for no real reason without realizing how much I actually KNOW them. Btw, A Goofy Movie is still probably my favorite animated Disney movie ever.

So, in responce to your videos, I've got a few things:

First off, Be a Man from Mulan... if anyone has seen the Dragonball Z: Abridged series by Team Four Star (like it or hate it, it's absolutely hillarious everyone should check it out). I found this hillarious.

Oh, and to your number 1 song:

...wait for it... wait for it...

I'm surprised you didn't get that other song from Lion King 2 that goes "Deception....disgrace."

On your list, those are all very good songs. There are some I would have ranked higher, and a couple I would replace, but alas, I like it.

... Oh, yeah, I remember that song by Scar quite well, #18. It's as though he was cryptically bragging about just how he was going to become king of the Pridelands soon enough. If there is one good thing I can say about that movie, whoever did Scar's voice made him sound like a total badass.

.... Oh, wait. That was Jeremy Irons who voiced him, wasn't it? No wonder he sounded badass, then.

Personally I'd place Mulan's "I'll Make a Man Out of You" above any other Mulan song. That's the song that really pulled me into the movie.

I'm pleased to see so many Lion King songs on this list. The first one is and always will be my favorite Disney movie, and Lion King II my favorite (and surprisingly good) Disney sequel.

So what's your opinion of An Extremely Goofy Movie?
