Well, here are the fatalities of all the Mortal Kombat fighters.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/g2sKuTVbkW8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/g2sKuTVbkW8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And now all the DC fighters. But wait... only the villans use fatalites. All the heros us Heroic Bruitalities? Lmao, what's up with that?

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_uHORoxXq3E&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_uHORoxXq3E&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

So like I guess heroic brutalities are not as evil/bad/whatever than fatalities. And if that is the case, why are they considered fatalities for all the good guys from MK? I bet some retard from DC said they wouldn't allow they characters to be used if they called them fatalities because it goes aginst their character or some controdictary bull crap like that. Not that I really care, I just think it's dumb that someone would actually make a deal out of it to rename fatalities for certain characters.

Oh, and btw... we don't get fataltites. All copies in the states are rated T and have fatalities omitted, so you might as well just watch the vids because you aren't seeing them elsewhere.

I admire the idea that Batman does a splits kick.
Also <3 Catwoman when she's not a horrible movie.

That's stupid.... But the heroes don't do fatalities because they don't kill. The people they finish are still moving on the ground.

... Well, I guess that makes sense .... In a weird sort of way.

In any event, I don't think that fatality moves - at least on the part of the MK characters - have ever been this good overall. I especially liked both of Baraka's, in part for his cool pose afterwards.

No fatalities on the US? Lame.
I mean, not that I like them that much, but still... :\
Oh... FUN FACT
Wonder Woman was the first (or at least of the biggest) DC heroes to break their do not kill code.
And now that I think about it, it might be that Do-not-kill code that prevents them from having fatalities, even on a video game.

If it is DC versus Mortal Kombat then DC should have what is consistently DC (which is not killing thus no fatalities) and Mortal Kombat should have what is consistently Mortal Kombat (which is having fatalities).

The Brutalities don't seem to be a good idea.

Mortal Kombat is poorly represented in the US version if there are no fatalities and that is so that the audience is greater but it does water down the Mortal Kombat brand.

I still think the Mortal Kombat roster of the characters is the more interesting one in a fighting game, ever. Iconic characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the cyborgs.
By the way, where are the cyborgs?

In the subjects of nice fatalities, Kitana's second one is the fatalitiest fatality I've seen...
Also, I think the heroic brutalities seem awfully out of place. Not nearly as interesting as the MK fatalities, with a few exceptions (Green Lantern, Joker).

The reason, I think is that little Timmy wants to play as Superman (you know, the guy on his pijama pants), but his parents wouldn't let him if it had such nasty things like fatalities. Hence why we don't get them in the states.

They cyborgs Smoke, Cyrax, and Sektor were in the last MK. They picked the most iconic ones for MK vs DC, and I guess they didn't consider any of the cyborgs plots within the MK realm worth putting since they only included 11 fighters. Hell, I bet it was hard just picking 11 out of over 60 fighters from the last game (armageddon). I can think of alot that I'd like to have seen beat the tar out of some of those comic book pansies.

But yeah, sensorship for the entire United States because of little Timmy FTL.

Its not censorship, it is a business decision by the companies to get a more Timmy-friendly rating (they can choose to go for the mature rating) and Midway (?) will be laughing all the way to the bank while its loyal fans still shell out $60 for a Teen Rated game without exercising their power as a consumer.

Yeah, it's Midway. And you are absolutely right. I think they are getting "Nintendo Fever" in the sense that they are trying broaden their range of consumers.

I'm a little hesitant towards getting this now. I may just wait till I can get it used on-line for cheap. At least Midway won't touch any of my < $60 ... just some random internet guy.

The question is how important is it to you? Some may still enjoy the other aspects of Mortal Kombat, and even enjoy MK embracing a larger gaming population while others say its simply not Mortal Kombat enough, and prefer to keep it for the more hardcore fan.

I just hope people know what they are buying instead of simply buying it because it is Mortal Kombat.

I probably shouldn't have said that Midway is laughing all the way to the bank, but clearly they are more interested in making money than preserving the older tradition of MK. It reminds me of when Johnny Damon left the Red Sox to play for the Yankees. It shows that the fans care more about the tradition than those actually involved in the major part of the decisions and for those involved in the decisions they usually care about money.

It is a reminder of the danger in relying too much on something you have little control over.

Actually, out of all the fighting games out there Mortal Kombat has pretty much been tops for me. And I'm sure I WILL eventually get it. But I'm not going to support Midway in the direction they are taking it.

A few games that have come out recetly (like CT:DS) I preordered and bought directly from Gamestop, because they order directly from Nintendo/Squeenix... And I did the same with MK Armageddon (didn't pre-order though)... I just buy online from random people if either I can't find it in retail, or if I don't think it's worth supporting the company from. Not like my $60 is going to sink or swim the company anyway.

I edited the above post and now saw your new post.

An example for me is Street Fighter. I loved both the original (the first one) and Street Fighter II and some of its variants. But then they got into alpha fighting and the game based on the movie (right? Does my memory serve me correct) and I avoided all those. They didn't get my quarters let alone my $60. It is the principle, not so much to stick it to them for changing but rather to say I will not simply give you money because of your brand if I'm unhappy with your product. Street Fighter III came around and I starting playing again. No harm no foul.

... Really? I thought that was one of the few moves in the video that were really stupid. (If you using the term "fatalitiest" - if that's even a real word ^_^ - as akin to being cool).

Agreed. I hated that one from previous MKs as well... it really doesn't even make sense. I also hated Lu's arcade fatality.

I think my favorite was Baraka's point-blank blades to the chest. Simple, clean, and awesome. Though I liked Scorpions second and Sub-zero's first a good deal too.

The green lanterns second is pretty disturbing...

Liu Kang's arcade one is terrible...
Kitana's doesn't make any sense, but it looks awful.

Scorpion's and Sub Zero's are classics. They can't change those, MK is nothing without that.
By the way, Reptile and his acid spit is also lacking there >.<

My favorite one is probably Sonia's necktwister. "Simple, clean and awesome." :D

Oh yeah, Sonya's second on is also one of the best ones in there. It's one of those where you make a sour face and just go "ooooooooooh." And the salute afterwards is nice.

I wish they would have brought back hara kiri's
