I knew about the one for DS coming out soon. (Nintendo Power had a preview of it in their last issue.)

Hm. What's so great about Disgaea?

It's can be argued to be the greatest Strat RPG series around. It's storyline takes a less serious tone, unlike Final Fantasy Tactics, and the potential stat growth is just vast. You start off at level 1... and can have a max level of 9999. That's level... not HP.


Here's a pic of what you can possibly do in the game (the first game).

In the video, they seemed to stress how you could deal over a million points of damage... but it was also possible in the last two installments, so I'm not sure what the deal is there.

Though one of the cooler attrations I have to the series is that the attack animations for single attacks, combo attacks, and magic spells are just beyond eye candy. It never gets old.

Oh Lantis, I can always count on. I made a similar thread at the pavilion, but no one seems to care. At least, there is two of us. I preordered my copy last month. :3

I've noticed that the sprites have barely been updated. But I have also never played the first or second games, so this one is new to me.

What I have to say about this game is simple. "Final Fantasy Tactics is no longer my favorite SRPG title!!!"

This game is a blessing. VERY deep gameplay. The only thing I found bad was the terrible voice-overs. Do yourself a favor and switch it to Japanese, the English is horrible.

Gosh this game is going to steal so much of my life...thats not bad, is it?

Oh yeah, you can dump some major time into these games... specially if you entend to complete the game 100%

About the voice acting... yeah, it's horrible. But kind of like a resident evil 1 horrible. You know... so bad that it has it's own charm?

The only English voice I like is Raspberyl's and her lackies, the others are a bit over the top.

Plus its just crazy how you can combine monters with Characters. And the whole Demon school idea is a fresh one to me. And I love the soundtrack. Good stuff Nippon Ichi, at least I think thats the studio's name?

That's the charm, everything is suppose to be over the top. I demand you play through the original to find out what I mean. So many good laughs in that game. I had quite a few in this one too, but now they are starting to get annoying, at least to me. The combat is pretty good, but the story just gets more outrageous and I mean that in a bad way.

If someone isn't able to pick up that Disgaea and both its sequels are MEANT to be the way they are, they're out of their mind.
