I was talking with Shadow last night about the lack of participation in the poetry contest, and he explained to me that not many people are into the poetry thing. He suggested that there should be an "open arts" contest, and I wholeheartedly agreed with him. Starting with the next contest, I want to introduce the concept of open arts, where we separate the categories with:

Best in poetry
Best in art (drawings, etc.)
Best in music (songs, beats, etc.)

I believe this will not only increase traffic in this forum, but it will also increase morale with the Magonians. If you guys have any more suggestions for this open arts contest, please do not hesitate to respond.

make it poetry/writing(storytelling, whatever) and it'll be good.

I think when it comes to things like contests, poetry, drawing,music, etc. you do need to have a couple regulars to keep it alive, but you have to be patient for others to participate.

I myself have wanted to enter both but haven't had the chance to come up with something.

If you unite everything into "open arts" that makes it easier to follow, but you are you going to have a poem compete with a drawing? If not, then you have the same problem you have right now, right?

No, no. A poem will not be competiting with a drawing. They will be separted in categories.
