Well, it's out... I JAPAN!

some things we learned about the game since it came out, is that is has quite a bit of voice acting.

One such part of the game would be the part where Cecil meets up with all 4 elements at the same time:

Warning, may contain spoilers for anyone that hasn't beaten the game.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zc3RljDkifU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zc3RljDkifU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Also, there is this wondeful piece:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IxdOKKmDlm4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IxdOKKmDlm4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Awesome!

The graphics are a little chibi-esque, but I still like it.

I'm wondering if FFV and FFVI will get similar makeovers.:)
(ESPECIALLY VI!!!! *drools*)

One thing I dislike about this whole remaking business is that Square-Enix is neglecting its non-Final Fantasy series once again.

I mean, how awesome would it be to see Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana to get this type of uplift, or maybe just even see the light of day again in a game that is wonderful.

I would love to see Secret of Mana like this, it would be much awesome.

Also, can't wait to find out if FFVI will get a DS makeover. (I can't wait to hear "Son of a submariner" said in the game... I hope.)

I think they shouldn't keep remaking games I think they should come up with new ones. How cool would it be to see a new game that competete with FF. A brand new Chrono game would be amazing instead of playing the same one just with better graphics.

I'm rather tired of Square's bull sh*t games. I'd rather play an old square game than a new one that sucks.

Most of them suck because the guy that made Final fantasy in the first place left the company, and Nobuo Uematsu now works for that guy's company.

That's the main reason I'm trying to leave Square and move on to Mistwalker.

So yeah, I'd rather play an old Final Fantasy than a new bull crap one.

Yeah, I'd love to see new entries into popular series as well, but I just highly doubt it anymore coming from Square-Enix. I think some of the last justices they did included releasing Final Fantasy Chronicles, and making the SNES Final Fantasies available to the younger generation easily.

I really, really, wish they would release a NEW game from an old series, but after seeing their little "revival" of Musashi on the PS2, and the cruddy Mana game on the PS2, I'd prefer they just stick to releasing FFXIII, FFXIII: Bewbz Deluxe, FFXIII: Second Story, and of course the obligatory FFXIII: Pulse DS where you're railgunning as Lightning, except they don't polish the gameplay and hope to sell out based on popular brand name alone.

The last recent Final Fantasy I ever bought was FFX. I can't see myself buying FFXIII.

I hear a lot of people losing hope in FinalFantasy and I deffinetly can see why, but I think from what little is known about 13 it's a step in the right direction. Maybe??? I have some faith in vs 13 anyway. He is by far the best main character I have seen in a long time judging soly on apperance. Then again anything is a step up from Vaan.

Vaan? Don't you mean Luke Skywalker?
Seriously, no one copied Star Wars more obviously than FFXII did. Okay, FFXII's Chewbacca is a bunny, but that's the biggest difference.

I feel kinda sad for not being able to get FFXIII, since I won't get a PS3, but you know what? Maybe it's for the best. But it still bugs me a little.

Whoa, I missed this topic. I came here to post this epic trailer

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eHl2lrj_6GQ&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eHl2lrj_6GQ&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And it turns out people already took note of the big videos.

Anyway, only a month to go before this releases. Watching these videos makes me real excited. I'm hoping it outdoes the older versions. Would be the first time I've found a new version so much better. (Oh, and whether the music still sounds good is another matter. Hard telling with these "put the camera to the screen videos".

BlueLaguna.net has songs from the soundtrack available for listening. I'd say it's a nice improvement. Especially the Town Theme. I'm sure it won't sound as clear on the DS, but it's still nice.

For comparison, here's the soundtrack from the original SNES game.

This game WILL be mine. I was unsure at first, but damn if that trailer hasn't changed my mind.

The cinematics are mindblowingly gorgeous, the cutscenes are just amazing. I felt so bad when one of the twins was calling Cecil "onii-sama"...

I loved Rosa's Japanese voice, Rhydia's character design in 3D is off the chain, and not only will I be disappointed if I don't see FFVI get this kind of justice, I'll be downright ornery.

What does "onii-sama" mean?

And yes, this is likely to wind up the most cinematic game to appear on the DS. Assuming FF6 doesn't recieve similar treatment. (Can you imagine the Floating Continent sequence with this sort of overhaul? They'd probably require some FMVs for some of that.)

I pre-ordered it, by the way. :)

Second thought, probably "onii-san" (my mistake! I can't see those twins addressing Cecil with honorifics that high). Basically, big brother. D'awww.

Here is an English trailer!

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Product ... sku=180539

It's on Gamestop's page. They have the scene with the twins in it again, and I was just so happy I translated it properly... though it's interesting to see how things translate. The twins don't cry out "big brother" literally in ours, just a concerned "Cecil!" and Cecil says it's his battle and his alone. I was just so dorked out I got that right.:p

I NEED this. My B-day is July 24th, and I am begging to pre-order this. Seeing this in English sealed it, this is going to be an epic.

Yup, saw that at YouTube. I wish the 3-minute trailer linked to earlier was translated, but oh well. By the way, the awesome opening:

And the fullscreen version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT12DW2F ... re=related

Sure outdoes the CG intro the PS1 version recieved. :) I love the first shot of the twins. I think they're my favorite characters from the game.

On a completely unrelated note, lookie, I've got 3333 posts!

Heh, Edward is still the coolest character in this game; and "You spoony bard!" is still in this game, right?

Holy crap, my Wal-mart had it. I can't believe it.

Though, I won't be playing till I finish Final Fantasy III.
