Yesterday, my dad and I bought a $1000 hp laptop. I just got it today, and I'm loving it.

It's running about 20000 times faster than my old laptop, and I've already started playing Diablo 2 on it.

So... um... that's it, discuss.

.. Diablo 2 huh.

You know, my roommate's comp that was around 11 years old could play D2 pretty well.

Have you tried anything like Crysis on it yet?

Well if you have a canned market computer, yes. No laptop will run as well or as long as a custom desktop.

Won't say what GHz it runs at? What about front side bus? Overclocking?

Also, if it's 200 gigs, I'd hope they'd have more than one hard drive to split it between. It would suck to have to reformat and not have a slave drive.

Oh and for a grand I assume there's a CD/DVD +/- RW in there as well. And I'd guess that the screens wide... not that I really care for wide. In fact the only time wide should ever be used is when watching movies. Other than that, I totally would prefer dual monitors instead (and I don't watch all too many movies ^_^).

What version of Vista would you have?

It's got Windows Vista Home Premium if that helps Lantis.

And yes, it does have all the DVD/CD stuff. and the screen is pretty wide, which is sorta annoying, since I'm not used to wide screens.

@regal - link might be helpful? also he said turion 58 and yours said same as mine.... 64 :/

agreed on wide screens. it's a bit disconcerting, though it does give you more room, it's also like... wide for full screening things *shrug* i'd go with lantis on having dual screens really.

either way sounds pretty spiffy though myoky ^^

I still run 32... Have you even tried the 64 bit XP OS? It was actually pretty bad. I mean, the worst being IE (go figure). But since then, I haven't even tried the 64 bit Vista OS. Drivers for the 64 XP were bad enough...
