Turns out I have a corneal ulcer. And yes, it's about as painful as it sounds.

It's an infection where the cornea (surface of your eye) is scratched by an infection. It makes your eye incrediably senestive to light, causing an un-sightly redness, and being all around painful.

Thankfully, I saw my eye doctor early so I'm taking some antibotic eyedrops. And a few hours later, things feel a lot better. Although I have to take them once every hour, they fortunately don't sting bad, and not as bad as putting them in 15 minutes at a time. And another sigh of relief is it's curable, because if you leave it alone it can cause blindness. So I'm glad I caught it fairly early.

Still, this brightness sensitivity is really annoying. I can hardly drive from place to place. Even at normal lighting conditions, it's too bright for me. It's been torture, but thankfully things are getting much better. I'll see the doctor again early in the morning to make sure things are going well.

So, what's the moral of this story? If you have any eye problems, make sure to see your eye doctor right away if your eyes aren't working right. Corneal ulcers suck big time!

(Thank god they aren't infectious.)

I'm glad you got that checked out early, man. Can't be playing with your eyes, for real.

hmmm... sounds sorta like my eyes, my eyes are sensitive to light, red, but it doesn't really hurt, it's more like an annoying alergy type of thing...

"An eye for an eye makes us all blind" :P

Huh? I hope the eye drops do the trick. Man, I'll go kill a pirate and get you an eye patch. No seriously, I hope you get well soon!!

I know that feeling.. of being so sensitive to light, that even a TV screen hurt my eyes. It was horrible. But it wasn't that serious, thankfully. I tend to scrtach my eyes a lot, so I sometimes have a redish left eye. I know I shouldn't do that...

It only affected my left eye. Thankfully it hasn't affected the other eye. And it also isn't contagious, so there's no chance of me spreading my pain :D

As far as which eye WOULD go blind....hopefully neither. And hopefully only one eye. Then I could wear an eyepatch and pretend to be a pirate!

So, I have no idea if it would make that eye blind, or both. Judging by the pain, I would hazard a guess and say only my affected eye would go. Impossible to tell though

Slight update which earns a double post:

Just went to the doctor today. The eye is starting to heal itself, and I'll be off the eyedrops by next week. Good news all around, I'm getting tired of putting these eyedrops in. Sure it's only one drop....but it's one that still bugs you.

And worst case scenario Chrssy, the left eye would become blind, and not both eyes. I just had to ask him about that one :lol

Hey, congrats 1ce, it's a good thing it's healing up.

I'm glad to hear those eye drops did the trick, now I just don't know what to do with this pirate's lifeless body.*Hides eyepatch behind back* :D

I'm glad to hear your eye is doing better. It would be really sad if you can no longer see the mag. Or anything for that matter.

Take good care of that eye 1ce. :)
