Saw the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and I'm kind of confused. After all the bad press this film got and fan uproar or whatever you want to call it, I was expecting to see a total crapfest. What I saw was a perfectly fine reboot that was funny at times, serious at other times, but nowhere along the way did it take itself too seriously. A fun action movie. I thought the characterizations of the turtles were good, and the action-driven storyline was pretty good as well.

I don't understand why there's such a strong hatred of a perfectly watchable film. I wasn't bored at any time while watching it. The storytelling was nicely paced, and at the end
the four turtles take out Shreddeer without any assistance from Splinter, unlike the 1990 version.

I wonder if in this day and age where everyone on the internet can be a critic wannabe, it's somehow cool to diss stuff for the sake of joining the negative crowd. Also, maybe some people just don't get Cinema Sins and Honest Trailers. Maybe some people take Cinema Sins a bit too seriously.

I haven't seen it yet. I think most of the times it's the nostalgia factor. I found the Transformer movies tolerable, but I didn't care about the old cartoons at least. Now TMNT were my absolute favorites, so I felt uneasy about the possible outcome. Add the fact that they considered making the turtles aliens instead of mutant and you got a lot of people expecting the worst.
I do plan on watching it eventually, but I must say I do not like how the turtles look at least.
