Last night, I hooked up my Blue Yeti and my laptop installed the hardware. Instead of installing it as a "Blue Yeti"(Recording and playback tabs) my laptop installed it as "UACbunchanumbers" and the device became screwed up. The red light on the Yeti is now faint, and whenever I record, the result is the sound of chipmunks on crack.

It happened when I nudged the mic and a common problem occurred. Whenever the Yeti gets nudged, the connection to the Laptop gets screwy and the USB needs to be plugged in again.

Ive tried reinstalling the hardware but to no avail. Any suggestions?

That is super weird. Apparently a common problem has been the cord- but that's definitely not a huge deal since it just uses a stock micro-USB cord.

Dumb question- have you tried using different ports to reconnect on? Restarting after that? Mine was having problems until I changed USB ports recently. I sometimes still worry about that though, so very legit concern.

I've tried all of my USB ports and even a different USB cord but with no success. Restarting doesn't help either. Looking online, a few other people had this problem. I'll keep trying and if the problem persists, it'll be time to get a new mic.

Alright. Sorry I couldn't be more help! I'm also assuming you tried a different computer. Godspeed!
