Post subject: | Posting rules |
I'd like to request that the rules for posting stickeyed in the palace be altered, reason being that i think they're broken. There was less spam on the forums before these rules came into play, and maybe something needs to be done. the problem is quite nicely expressed by something K.A said in one of the chat threads, namely 'the joker is an ass'. It was about how a comment can be ontopic, and yet still be spam. i figure thats the reason the palace is so full of worthless nonsense. theres a certain point beyond which there is nothing to say about a topic. after this point, any comment made is either spam ie; words without point or substance, or a topic change. It is a habit of mine now to talk about something after theres nothing to say, and tie in the title of a topic to an irrelevant post, just to keep it 'relevant'. unfortunately, almost everyone else now does this too. I figure thats why its so hard to have a sensible conversation in the palace, and thats why i figure our rules on spam are ot of alignment with what makes a genuine conversation. Often we're talking, but not saying anything. I figure then that hollow posts are the biggest problem. these are posts that either; 1) say what has already been said (saying that you agree with someone elses point isnt repetition, as your own point of view is after all unique) or; 2) leave no room for comment (talking about something simply for the sake of making a post, or talking about something noone else knows enough to reply about) as things are, conversations don't move on, and stagnate after a certain amount of spam-posts. there is one exception to this. The only thread that allows subject changes is on some 200 pages. maybe this is because its sticky, though :s i there that there would be more to say if; 1) spam and worthless posts were more clearly defined. 2) subject changes were allowed within a thread. maybe im wrong about this, and it certainly disagrees with the existing topic rules. Any criticism is a good thing, as it shows someone has considered the idea. after typing this, im wondering if maybe im making something out of nothing. it would be ironic if this post was effectively saying nothing. thanks for reading. |

I kinda feel I have to add to this. I'm not tring to be like a Duelpro. I am not yelling out random things like cookie! cookie! cookie! Or this topic sucks. You all suck for typing. I am getting tired of KA yelling at me. Honestly I really did not think I was spaming. I really thought as long as I say something about the topic it will be fine. I know that the staff jokes about bans. Owolf gives little w00ts and says band insted of ban. Stuff like that. Its all cute. I like it. BUT IF SOMETHING IS REALLY BOTHERING YOU, I NEED TO KNOW WHATS REAL AND WHATS A JOKE! A PM would be nice. Then I will not be embarrest if I do something wrong. Then I will also know that your for real. What I think would be an idea is "Maybe" after a topic gets dead it should get moved to the hammer. Or locked! Your the judges. Sometimes you just forget that.. 1. Your not in the hammer. 2. That your getting off topic with out realizing. 3. Replying to the person above changes the topic over to spam. ASK ME THIS QUESTION.. Kitty are you tring to spam? ANSWER: No.. So then why was I spaming? I guess I really had no clue that I was. Yes I'm sorry for spaming. I will try not to do it again. But the problem is "I don't know that I'm even doing it." |

I'm gonna keep this as short as possible in order to leave out fluff. If you want to talk about something else, make another thread about the changed topic. We're not going to manhandle you for making a new topic. The rules in the spam hammer are not clearly defined, I have noticed. But then again, I thought people were sensible enough to be able to distinguish the difference between a regular post and spam. Then there's the line between spam and pointless. If we have to babysit and tell you EXACTLY what to do, then we shouldn't have a spam forum at all now should we? And as for you, KK. How could you not know? You have me on your ass about it when you do it. I would think you would know by now that you're doing it. Call me a bastard, an ass, whatever, I'm just stating what I think and if you have a problem with that, well, take it up with my boss. I'm doing my job and sure I may make a spam post here and there, but that's a mistake of my own. I don't post much because I don't feel compelled to post in topics I don't feel like posting in. So, either fix it, or answer to me. |

KA I'm not mad at you. Your doing your job. I know this. Your a good person. I'm always thinking of ways to make the world a better place and make things easyer for everyone. I hope my ideas are not going to afect the job they gave you. Last thing I want is that they think my idea is a good one and they "lay you off" Because the spam problem got fixed too well that they dont need a Super Mod anymore. Yea, in my dreams right Lets face it no one likes cops. And they made you a thread cop. Honestly some times I think you just try to bust my balls just for fun. Not because I'm doing something wrong. The bigest problem is on this note, WHAT IS A JOKE AND WHATS NOT? AND ARE YOU TRING TO BE AN ASS OR IS IT JUST THE JOB YOUR DOING THATS MAKING YOU THE ASS? How about if you try copying and pasting all the non-sence posts to one post. Then it might make it more real that yes everying that was just said by me was off topic. It might also help to put in your sig. "I'm not tiring to be a Di*k. I'm just doing my job." Maybe that reminder will help give you more respect. Everyone is getting so caught up in the moment of having fun and a good time that they forget things. I know all you men are guilty of that. Thats why us ladys have to hit you when you get too horney on the first date. |

A lot of things are coming due for overhauls. I agree with Regal that the rules do seem to be a bit outdated. We're also having movement going on in Forum staff, so I'm going to PM Reki with this thread. |

Has anyone looked at the Creativity boards in a while. I just want to make my self clear. I will never be as bad as Duelpro. |
