President of Enterbrain predicts Wii wins over PS3.

"The impressive feature with the PlayStation 3 is the outstanding graphics and outstanding price," he said, referring to the console's Ã‚Â¥59,800 ($510) price tag. The Wii will cost Ã‚Â¥25,000.

"Brand image (for the PlayStation 3) is very high, and half the people we surveyed said they wanted one, but when we ask if they will buy one many say that it's too expensive and that they'll wait until the price drops," Hamamura said.

The result will be that the PlayStation 3 sells at about half the rate of the PlayStation 2, and many gamers wait until the end of 2007 to purchase it, when Hamamura predicts a price cut and a new Final Fantasy game to attract more buyers. He expects the PlayStation 3 to rack up total sales of between 9 million and 10 million consoles by 2010, he said.

The third console in the market, Microsoft's Xbox 360, was launched last year. It will get a boost from new software titles and a low-price HD DVD drive add-on. But total sales up to 2010 are likely to lag behind competitors at 1 million and 2 million units, according to Enterbrain.

Is that an indicator of Wii support? Time will tell.

I really doubt we will see another RM title before 2007. Which would mean that the base installation will be around the same. Guess it is a toss-up.

Well who doesn't want a wii its something new and exciting. Anyone can play(people with arms, and the deaf cannot)

Well all I have to say is " If the new controler has any bugs, :like I think there might be: Then the PS3 will be more better. Because that will afect all the games you play on it. But who knows. It just might be the best controler that was ever made, for all I know. I stand to be corrected.

I've read decent hands-on previews. There's been comments like "it's not 100% accurate" (I think the comment was specifically for Red Steel), but Nintendo and everybody else has had plenty of time to perfect it since last E3.

I gotta bring up again the fact that sony will only have 2 million consoles by the end of this year and nintendo will have 4 million by the end of the year. Wii is clearly going to be ahead of sony, just because of units available. Skipping ahead to the next generation (ps4, nintendo wanger, and xboxalavista), I bet that someone will be looking for both a headstart AND a high production of units. That seems to be what most developers want (a high userbase).

Personally, I like some of the ideas that the Nintendo controller brings (intuitive reactions are possible, and quick, easy aiming), but a lot of the rest is something that I don't care for to the point that I'd really not want to play a tennis game where I have to actually swing the racket at the right angle so the ball will land inbounds. I don't know how well it will package together waving around the controller in one hand while having the handheld thumbstick in the other (also, will this allow lefties to play left-handed? they won't have to conform anymore!... how awful)

^ Thats just what I mean... If the controller becomes a problem or just a "pain in the butt" to use." People will get fustrated and pick up the PS3 insted.

Yeah, it's really difficult but not a problem for me though.I've mastered it.But the PS3 controller is easier to handle.

The PS3 controller has tech in it like the Wii's controller. Not nearly as advanced, but it does have it.

Well, these consoles are still rivaling to get good sales scores.But their technology is all advanced!Well not nearly every one of them, But i do have both consoles which is fun since i can swithc playing consoles !

I said it in one thread... and I'll say it here:

If you want to buy a wii with 4 controllers you will spend $430.00 since the controllers are $60 a pop ($250 for the system)... and you will need them as Twilight Princess seems to be one of there VERY few single players games.

$499 doesn't seem like too much for a PS3 anymore, does it?

But you are right as far as Wii gettting a higher userbase. Want to know the reason? Because Sony needs to push back the release date. If they do, they can make more consoles to be released.... but they aren't. You know why? Because of the holidays. They want the system out before Christmas.

That and people are too damn impatient. I say let them take all the time they need to make a perfect system. But too many people are crying casue they want it now. *shakes head*
