It is literally a 3DS without a hinge and with out 3D capability. Everything else is the same.



If this is legit, it is perfect for the spoiled young children that break the hinges of a more expensive product.
The wedge shape makes it easier for kids to hold an not drop.
Kind of like an entry level version of the 3DS.

But really, I mean I can see the reasoning behind it, I really can, but it just seems a bit redundant. The 3DS has a 3D slider you could turn off completely if you want to make it do what the 2DS is gonna do. It looks like it'd feel very weird to hold. But whatever. If it sells, then good for them.

I think the point is more so the fact that it's like $40-$80 cheaper than a standard 3DS, so it's also targeted at the people who really wanted a 3DS for the library, but no so much for the 3D aspect.

Personally, the girth and lack of flip-top kills it for me.

yeah, my friend was considering getting one because of the price point, but after I told him about it no having a flip-top, he backpedaled, because it would probably be prone to scratching and the like. Plus, you can't fit it in your pocket.
