Can we have a "WHOS ON LINE" Bar in the threads them selves?

So people can see 1. Whos looking at your thread. 2. Who may be typing on your thread?

I don't know what I'd have to change to add that. So far, I'm using mostly default commands.

Sounds kind of useless as we don't usually have tons of members on... you see the post when you see the post *shrug*

Well you could probaby just copy and paste what's in the page template for the index and the forum pages. Then you should be able to determine what specific topic a person is at from the session data about the person.

So it will be similar to the who's on a specific forum code and template setup. I'm still pouring through the phpBB code, so I'll let you know if I come across anything useful. Though I'll mainly be looking at login since I'm interested in how they do login, for creating login systems for pages I work on.

Well, we are hoping that the mag will become more developed with more people over time. For the same idea that AIM or any of the message systems now all tell you "this person is typing." I enjoy seeing the activity. As I'm sure most people would too.

I guess it would be useful sometimes, actually right after i posted back you on that before i went and replied to something in chat but 2 other peopel were replying at hte same time and it gave me that "Does your message still work" alert thing.

Not that it's my decision anyway, the code part is Ixzion's department ><

I could probably disable that posting alert. As for the other thing, potentially. Don't get your hopes up, though.

OMG, no dont disable the post alert, it's easier to edit with it then find out later that you missed 2 posts and your post didn't fit in anymore than it is to edit before it even gets posted. I think that alert is a good thing *begs*

Maybe make it a user option to turn it off?

I'm sorry, I thought the topic got changed to talking about missing posts and people posting at the same time. Did not know "Don't get hopes up." Was regarding the Online bar. Sorry for my misunderstanding.

I dunno if you know this, but if you click on "Who is Online?" in the who's online bar, it shows you where everyone is and what they're doing.

I click on the Who's online bar at the Pav all the time....it makes me feel like Big Brother.

Thats funny.. But you know. That "whos on line" Does not show what thread your in. It will just state if your " in the hammmer,front page, forum index"..
