This has happened twice now. I come onto the RPGMM and scan the forums to see what's new, and my connection attempts to get intercepted by a different website. A hacker? Someone trying to screw with people's computers or place Ad cookies on it? Either way, this has happened twice, and it's troubling me - luckily I have Mozilla FireFox and some hacking prevention tools, so the interception does not take place, and instead I get a notice.

It says that there's an uncertified element trying to intercept my location. I check for it's certificate, and it had none because, quote, "There is no certificate information because source is not trusted."

The source? nerdclub.net

I'd keep an eye out for guys, perhaps checking to see if anyone has uploaded a virus or a spy-cookie to your site. Just trying to keep you guys protected. See you all later.

I haven't seen that notice, and I have Firefox as well. Does it happen at around a specific time?

From what I can tell right now, it doesn't appear to happen at a specific time. It happened last night when I entered the chat room. It was about... 8 pm, I believe. It happened this morning a little after 10, possibly near 10am. Both times are Central US Time Zone.

I tried to google and access the nerdclub.net website, and as soon as I clicked on the link to the website, a window popped up warning me that nerdclub.net was trying to intercept my communication. This leads me to two possible conclusions:

1) We've got a hacker or an unidentified program loaded into these servers and nerdclub.net is responsible,
2) nerdclub.net itself has been hacked by another group, and that "other entity" is using nerclub.net as a server for hacking - the website in question being this board and the possibility of any other boards or websites.

Either way, this kind of situation usually means someone's trying to hack the board or that they've already managed to hack the board. I suggest any precautions - IP scans, searches, hidden cookies, anything. I hope I'm not the only person getting this; but it only happens when I'm browsing these forums.

I think it was the chat room. When you enter the chat, that comes up.

However, if you can use the chat without allowing that thing permission, do so.

If it's not the chat, then guard yourself.

The first time it happened in the chat (and I'm not referring to Arkiva). The second time it happened, this morning, I hadn't even clicked on the chat. I was just browsing the forums.
