For the longest time I sided with Microsofts IE browser... for its compatability with every site. But after updates from Windows started blocking active control in which you had to click to activate, as well as the newer "click to activate this control" for every application on the page... I decided it was time to move on... Down with the MS regime, I say. So I downloaded the newest version of FireFox. While I liked the change, there were even problems with it. The one problem, which was the straw the broke the camels back, was when I was trying to download a newer codec for anime in a .mkv format. The file would just stop downloading for some reason.... after restarting the download, it would hang up again at a diffrent place (sometimes later in the download, somtimes earlier). So I downloaded Opera... as suggested by good friend, Sumisem. And lo and behold (I still don't know what "lo" means) it everything works fine now. I really like it's separate donwload tab as well as other features. Opera FTW!!!! |

I really like it's separate donwload tab as well as other features. Opera FTW!!!! Finally someone saw the light . I really just campaign for people to just stop using IE. In terms of complying to webstandards it sucks big time. You would think a standards compliant website would show up fine everywhere, well everywhere but IE that is. Then there is the whole IE keeps your history ... forever. See there is this file called index.dat which resides in your C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\ Temportary Internet Files\Content.IE5 that keeps track of everywhere you've ever been and will reinstate your history in this folder, even when you tell IE to delete it. The best part being you can't even see this folder unless you explore it (have the folders displayed on the side), or goto it in a command prompt. Even better is you can't delete the file unless you boot in DOS, which *shocker* isn't a possibility in the current Windows without a DOS boot disk. So yeah, IE the biggest piece of spyware on the internet. Don't even get me started about IE security, which is almost not there, and since it's part of your OS, means if it gets comprimised you're pretty screwed. Plus tabbed browsing is in every other broswer, come on. So whether opera or firefox is more right for you is up to you to decide, but please, think of the web developers and don't use IE . |

I hate Opera. I like things that rock. Opera is not one of them. |

Yes, yes it does . Maybe IE7 will fix this stuff, but as I see it IE is just catching up to what other broswers have had for at least a year. And no tranparent pngs (stands for Portable Network Graphic btw) makes for a very sad Panda. Do you want the Panda's to be sad? Hmm. |

Indeed. If Opera starts to get old, you can always use Firefox or....maybe Netscape. But I'm sticking with the Opera browser, baby. |

I'm just too lazy to care. IE is there, and until it ceases to be there I will use it. |

^ yeah that was what I did for so long... I just FINALLY got off IE after getting this new computer.... maybe i'm TRYING to be more geeky or something. Eek. Opera is relatively slow, I have noticed that point. But Netscape is FAR worse. As long as we arn't using Netscape. *looks at Ixzion* Opera is stable though, and web complient. The thing that I really dislike FireFox for is that the dev team for it go off about how IE is not web standard and it sucks so everyone should use FireFox and tell their friends to as well. But FireFox isn't exactly up to web standards either. They don't even have proper documentation about that on their site... Opera Does though. They are a bunch of hypocritical lame asses. They arn't promoting web standards they are promoting themselves. Opera is all about web standards and compatibility where FireFox just uses that against IE though they don't have any base to do so. facts wrote: I thought you were going to be sing opera...
When I saw the title, I thought that as well. *shrug* |
