This is amazing. Just click on what you want on your character and then download the image!

Could it be possible for us to make this for RM1?

If we could, it needs to be browserbased for the traffic. Also if it could automatically put the image into the correct format, as well as let you name it before the download. That would be EPIC beyond comprehension.

If you can save the RPG Maker sprites in a format that a computer graphics program can interpret, then it is largely just a matter of splicing up the sprites into their individual components, and designing/writing the web-based program.

The graphics processing part of PHP is an area I don't have a lot of experience with (I'm a general programming & database guy), but it should be possible to change colors/hues on individual components, too. With a properly designed database, you could easily share created sprites, have a gallery of recent creations, vote on your favourites, etc.

I don't know about saving it in the RPG Maker save format, though. I think you would still need to use the RPGC manually to do that conversion. I'd have to learn a lot about the save format before I could say whether or not that part is possible.

Regardless, the basic idea is feasible. I don't see any reason that it shouldn't be.

Maybe this should be my next project after Kupid.

Yeah, I've actually done it before Insult. You just make the sprite, and then use that RPGC program to turn the sprite into a .GME file that can be put in RPGM1, the same thing Lantis did for that picture demo he made.

orly? Well now that's a plus.

But if we do it for RM1 specifically, we could rule the web once and for all!

Get me all the sprites in RPG Maker saved in BMP or PNG format, and I can get started. One month to finish, maybe? A couple weeks for a prototype?

the sprite gen would add a new dimension to rpg maker that may cause a temporary resergance. its difficult to make good sprites and i end up spending hours trying to get the exact sprite i want. a system like this could be very helpful indeed.
