This is the current game I'm working on. I'm posting it here, since I've got no Dev. Studio ^^

Gameplay

The gameplay is focused on battles. No CBS, though. The thing about the battles is that the game is totally based on Martial Arts. So, the Attack option is the one you'll probably only use when you run out of Tech points (MP). It is fairly weak. Tech points, on the other hand, serve as fuel to perform Techs (spells), which will be your most damaging resources. Techs will include things as: High Kick (damage), Drunken Stagger (increase Speed), Hook Punch (damage), Low Kick (decrease opponent's speed) etc. You get the point ^^
Offensive Techs and characters are divided in three types: Strike, Grapple and Special. Character types are based on their fighting style. Strike beats Grapple beats Special beats Strike.
Battles play somewhat like Pokemon, if you want an analogy. Moreover, it's crucial (special later in the game) to work with your and your opponent's stats, and spend your Tech points properly.

The Story

Kimmy, a reporter, runs away from her conservative Japanese home. Being a martial arts master (taught by her father and by herself), she decides to enter the Hanmei, an obscure tournament organized by a chinese mafia boss. Her real objective is to cover the tournament first-hand and publish about it. Of course, the mafia boss and the tournament organizers do not like that.
Katsumoto, Kimmy's Japanese father, goes after his daughter. He finds it absurd that she ran from home and entered such a dangerous tournament by herself. Unfortunately for him, the only way to find more about the Hanmei is to win battles and advance to the next stage.
Knowing that he has no other option than to enter the tournament to find his daughter, Katsumoto asks for the help of Kimmy's ex-husband, a drunken barroom brawler: Max Riggs. That's where the player comes in. Playing as Max (sometimes with other party members), the player must help Katsumoto find and eventually protect his daughter from the chinese mafia that's after her.

Main Characters

Kimmy (Kimiko) Ishinomori - A reporter, daughter of Katsumoto and ex-wife of Max Riggs. She runs away from home, angry at her father that loves martial arts and his company more than he loves her. She enters the Hanmei to prove that she is a better fighter than her father, and to make an exclusive cover article about it.
Kimmy fights the Korean martial art of Hapkido. She also knows some Aikido moves, taught to her by her father when she was little.

Max Riggs - Once, he was a renowned Special Forces agent. Once, he was the husband of Kimiko Ishinomori. He left the Special Forces, he got divorced from Kimmy. Now, he is but a drunkard in a bar that loves to find and cause trouble. Max had a very good relationship with his ex-wife's father; that's why Max is the one Katsumoto looks for to get help. Max accepts to enter the Hanmei not only to help Katsumoto, but also to see his ex-wife again, and who knows, maybe something can happen?
Max still knows the tricks of Commando Training, the unarmed combat techniques taught in the army. Moreover, he is a powerful barroom brawler and street fighter. If that's not enough, Max can also fight the unusual Drunken Boxing when drunk.

Ishinomori Katsumoto - Father of Kimmy. He married a woman in the USA while in a business trip for his Japanese company, and had a child with her. After that, he dragged his wife and his daughter all around the world, never settling in one place, always working for the company. His wife eventually passed away, and his daughter now dislikes him deeply.
Katsumoto is a master of the defensive Aikido style. But he can also tap into the techniques of the powerful Crane Style when in a pinch.

Marcel Bontecou - A mysterious, sadistic and insane frenchman. Marcel is probably the most powerful competitor of this edition of the Hanmei. Secretly, he also wants to work for Lin Qi.
Marcel fights the French kickboxing art of Savate, and cares not for the lives of his opponent.

Lin Qi - This chinese gentleman is actually the big mafia boss behind the Hanmei. No one knows why he organizes the tournament, but there are rumors that it is to find the most powerful martial artists in the world to be his bodyguards.

Other

The game will definetly have two endings, and I already know one of the plot twists.
I'm thinking whether I'm going to include another one I'm thinking about.

Note! The game is based on a short story in the book: Blood and Fists - d20 Modern Martial Arts. I'm expanding the story, moving character around and 'translating' into RPGM, but the base is that story. ^^
