Hello gang!

I've decided to use this post to let everyone know what's going on in the minds of the MagCon Planning Group.

#1 Convention Fee
MagCon 2010's convention fee has been talked about for a while, and this is what we've come up with:

It will be 100 for each person for the entire weekend, plus a free Mag dinner.The fee is still open to change if this is too unreasonable for attendees.

Included in the con fee is an 11x17 print of the exclusive MagCon poster featuring the Magscots! The big poster is 18x24 and is going to be the prize of a tournament (see below).

#2 RPG Maker Megazine
Yes, the RPG Maker Megazine, which was originally supposed to feature the first 10 issues of RPGMM and extra features, will now showcase all 12 of our issues on paper! The Megazine will be released formally at MagCon before anywhere else! When attendees arrive, they will be greeted with the hardcover tome, spreading some 250+ pages of nostalgia!

The price of the Megazine has not been confirmed yet, but will be a separate costs from the convention. Anyone who orders the Megazine for the con will have hand-delivered, bypassing shipping costs.

#3 RPG Maker Showcase
By sending your game files in to Lantis, you will be able to show off your RPG Maker projects at the con! RPG Maker 1-3 games are supported by the PS3, but that's not to say that XP/VX games are not welcome. We will have a laptop (and free internet access) there, so we can show off XP/VX games, as well.

#4 Tournaments
Videogame Decathalon
Individual entrants will compete against one another in 10 random point-based videogames from the past! NES, SNES, and GEN games!

#5 Anime Systems Sponsorship
Deeper_Kyo, poster here at RPGMM and a businessman, will be the official sponsor of MagCon 2010 through his computer repair business Anime Systems. If ever you have a computer problem, give him some business! He'll be helping with various aspects of the convention.

To all the people planning to go to the con, we would like to hear your input/feedback about this. The best way to have this con rock the hardest, is if we have everyone's opinions.

No bringing our own memory cards, huh? Ah, well, it'd probably be unwise to take $100 worth of memory cards on a bus, anyway.

Actually, it's either way. If you want to bring cards, I'll convert them to my PS3 when you bring them... but I thought this would be a bit more conveniant to have everything in one place before the con.

Well if this fee is in addition to having to pay for the hotel this gets to be real expensive. Probably too expensive.

I would assume the fee is because of the hotel costs. We are non-profit, after all.

yeah... it's three rooms for three nights. You in one room for three nights at that hotel would be closer to around $400 plus. So $100... and it comes with a free meal and poster. I know that's not much, but we are doing what we can.

Actually it would be higher if Ix, Deeper, and I weren't digging into our own pockets for some of the costs. But still, if the price is unreasonable, we'll see what we can do.

Also, seeing as this is our first time to really coordinate something like this, if we somehow get too much money and have some leftover after the con, we'd be sure to return that to you guys, of course.

Sorry, now I'm really confused. If it includes the hotel room for 3 nights which would normally be $400 plus then how come it is only $100?

Because we'll be sharing the rooms with multiple people. If we have 5 people in one room, then the bill is split 5 ways... making it 5 times cheaper than normal. We have 15 people and 3 rooms so far, generally speaking.

I might want to note that these rooms have two twin size beds and a couch or two, I believe. If you have an air matress, I'd suggest bringing it.

I assumed that it must have meant that people were sharing rooms I just didn't expect it to be 5 per room. When you get to be my age you think of sharing rooms with 1 or 2 "strangers" at a convention at most but I guess 5 is about right for the collegiate age. Plus I know some of you guys know each other already.

EDIT: I removed a possible scenario where I miscalculated an unexpected cost. So disregard if you saw it.

If we have to get a fourth, we will... and we'll do our best to keep the cost still at $100 even if it means pulling out of our own pockets. The good thing about us being so small is that we can actually work out things like this. If this was on a massive scale like other conventions, I doubt we'd be able to work out things all that well. Actually, we'd probably leave lodging up to those coming. But that's assuming we had another building to host the con...

But here, we will probably use one of the three rooms as a 'main' room to host all the activities and such.

That's how many we had per room at MagCon 2. Granted, a couple of us were there for the furry convention downstairs.

Just for the record, we have absolutely no problem if attendees wish to pay for their own private accommodations at MagCon. The cost is 144 per night, in case you are considering it.

I know Dray isn't the only one going for sure, I'd really like to hear some other input from other people coming...
