Moving on from Soul Blazer, it's time to hit up Quintet's second in the series: Illusion of Gaia. While I do enjoy some Soul Blazer awesomeness... I really feel that this game is much better in every single way. In fact, this would be one of those "If you never had a SNES and you just got one, you'd HAVE to play this game" lists. This game had a special place in my childhood as me and a good friend of mine use to play it. Hopefully I'll be able to play through this game will no pausing of video, no referencing walkthroughs, or no having to fastforward. I haven't decided if I want to go ahead and try to collect all 50 Red Jewels or not... but I'll pick up as much as possible, and hopefully have 50 by the end. If not, I'll at least show you what happens when you do.

    Another classic.

This game from what I recall came out around the time of Secret of Mana/Evermore.. I ended up getting Illusion but later played Evermore. It seemed in 93-95 there were lots of SNES RPG's that were very much alike.. those were the days, eh?

Sadly, I'm one of those gamers that hardly ever finishes RPG's but has beaten tons of games :P

I recall in Illusion I was very far into the game uncovering a lot of secrets about those weird symbols out in the world on the ground and such and for some reason just up and quit one day and never looked back. So, yeah.. watching an LP is definitely going to be my catch up on the ending of this game and see how it turns out, finally.

I really liked the depth of this game and the borderline realism that the story kind of breaks that 4th wall in video games and tries to give some explanation to the unexplained. Very good stuff and I look forward to this.

    Hey, Lantis.

I think there should be another "Never put this into an RPG" or else it should be one of the top 10 replacing something you and SK made..

But, how about sequences in which you must stand still/around for a period of time before the game allows you to continue!?

How stupid is it that you can't continue from the raft ride with kara without waiting around!? LOL

Yeah, it's pretty bad. And I get hung there every freaking time. I can understand doing something like that in a jail-cell. Lots of RPGs do that, actually... but without any hint as to needing to just stand there for 10 plus seconds. Ah well, after this LP, I'm pretty sure I'll remember.

I'll be getting part 5 up as soon as I get around to it. I've started working on RPG Maker 1 recently, and that kind of takes priority. But it shouldn't take too long...

Updated with the last two videos. So I've finally finished the second of the Quintet games. I'll be starting the thrid and final game soon. I may go back one day and pick up all 50 red jewels and tackle the optional dungeon... if so, I'll post it as a bonus vid.

Anyway, thanks to all those who watched.

That ending drug on foreveeeer :P

The jackal ... lol.. Such an off-screen threat only to not amount to anything.

The way they kind of whip up the plot right at the end is interesting.. and the fact that kara did -nothing- even though she's the 'other half' or whatever in the hell...

Oh well, Shadow is all powerful.. including shooting out phoenix birds.. Blue bubbles from space ...they were... fun? XD

Good LP, Lantis.. way to chug through it!
